    Acknowledgements

We’d like to thank everyone who has continued to support our children’s book series. Gavin and I have been anxiously waiting for this book to be completed.

I’d like to thank my husband, Louis, for continuing to encourage me to get this book published. It’s your faith in my writing that keeps me from giving up.

A HUGE thanks to our new illustrator, Thao.  She stepped in when our original illustrator backed out. She took the time to read the book, study how the previous characters were drawn so we didn’t have to start over, and got busy drawing. She has been a lifesaver and has truly made this story come to life.

Much appreciation to Lindsey for ensuring every word follows proper grammar structure. I couldn’t do it without you!

Much appreciation to you, the reader, for deciding to read this book. I hope you can relate to Zach and continue to read about his adventures.

    Dedication

To our little princess warrior, Alessandra.

No teacher today? my friend asks me.

I shrug. I don’t— I’m interrupted when something brushes the side of my head. I immediately see a paper airplane take a nosedive and hit the floor.

Big Teddy leans over and, using the edge of his tennis shoe, he drags it closer to him and picks it up. Didn’t you learn your lesson when you were suspended? He hands the wrecked paper plane to Carter.

What? Carter grabs it from him. I didn’t throw it.

Then why are you taking it from me? Big Teddy questions the school troublemaker.

It’s not mine. Carter quickly tosses it to the floor, but we both know he did it. He’s the only one in the school who uses 100% organic recycled non-toxic notebook paper with a natural beige tint. His mom is a little obsessed when it comes to all things natural. You would think he’d know that, but then again, the only reason I know is because Big Teddy pointed it out to me.

Sorry, I’m late. Mr. McDaniel walks into
