The Beginning: An Innocent Meeting
Every affair starts with communication between a man and a woman. It is almost always innocent with no special meaning attached to it. However, it is always a positive interaction eliciting a good feeling in one or both. Of course, trillions of non-affairs start this way too.
From the first Brad and Angelina’s affair was just like the affair next door—they met at work. The workplace is a natural because by definition it provides a place away from home, and work is a contained, fantasy world all its own. So the setting is fertile ground for an affair. No affair partner begins by thinking, This month I’m going to have an affair.
But each is usually in a state of readiness, a state of dissatisfaction with life as it is.
In Brad and Angelina’s case, their jobs also involve personal and physical intimacy, which makes it easier for the relationship to become close. So in their case, hypothetically, it might look something like
