About this ebook
Everyone dreams of building a good home right from their relationship. The period before going into building a home is ideally when an intending spouse should build self by obtaining all information necessary to prepare them for building a good home. However, what we find is a number of young, uninformed minds living in a dreamland and fantasizing about all that building a good home is not. Their expectation is influenced by secular novels, movies, and culture that only present an unrealistic picture of building a good home and create mental blocs to the effectiveness of God’s word in home building. Thus many people go into home-building with the wrong mindset that erodes the purpose of GOD for instituting the home. God is the builder but can’t build beyond our willingness to believe and obey his principles and master plan.
How can a man or woman prepare to build a good home in this age? How can you have the home of your dreams? How can you disarm the devil that ploughs around seeking to put your homes in shambles?
In this well-tailored book, Ify Obiekwe (Jnr.) writes on the pillars and keys that would help one build and sustain a good home. If you desire to see the purpose of God fulfilled in your home, then this book is a must read!
You will have the home of your dreams.

OBIEKWE
DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my lily and husband, Rev. Izu Obiekwe, a rare and wonderful gentleman and our children, Chinedu, Chimdindu and Ozioma. You add colour to our home.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I am forever grateful to God Almighty, the covenant keeping God, the good God, whose good instructions has taught us to build a good home.
PREFACE
I was moved in my spirit to write this book because the most important place on earth is home. The home is a place where life makes up its mind, a place where we live, the basic unit of every society and the world at large. Most importantly, it is a place where destinies are built. No wonder God is indeed dependent on home and He is equally in need of homes to raise godly children and fulfill His purpose on earth. Every human vessel God will use will come out of a home. No man drops from heaven, even Jesus did not drop from heaven; He had to come through a home.
Home is a sensitive area of our lives and the entire society. It is an institution, which God Himself established and wants to be glorified in. The building of homes should not be left to women (wives) alone. The man, as the husband must be actively involved in the successful building of the home because it is obvious that it takes partnership to build a good home. The Bible tells us that one will chase one thousand and two will chase ten thousand. It is important for husband and wife to know that they need to individually build themselves first before they can build a good home together.
If you are single, you have one of the most powerful privileges you will ever have by reading and applying the principles in this book. You are on your way to building a good home. One of the things that helped and is still helping us in our home is that we got exposed to some of these teachings very early in life. In fact at age 14, I had begun preparation- building myself, thus building my home. So I started off at a place of advantage and today God has blessed us tremendously and not only us but even the people we meet on daily basis. It is very necessary for young people today to know that glorious manifestation is usually a product of conscious preparation. An African adage says, It is not when you get to the warfront that you begin to learn how to use the gun.
Building a good home is a divine assignment to be done very well and successfully, and it is a tasking experience because good homes does not just happen as we see in movies and secular novels. It takes hard work, for nothing good comes easy. No wonder Luke 14:28-30 says For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first and counteth the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it? Lest haply after he hath laid the foundation and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, saying, this man began to build and was not able to finish.
God is the builder but He (God) can’t build beyond your willingness to obey His Principles and Master plan, since He (God) is the originator of HOMES.
God wants to equip you with wisdom, understanding and knowledge needed for the height He is taking you to. Many homes today are in shambles because so many couples lack the wisdom, understanding and knowledge of building a good home.
The Bible says, Through wisdom is a house builded, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches
(Proverbs 24:3-4, KJV).
I really want you to know that building a good home is possible. I mean, you can have a fulfilling marital union as you build a good home founded on the word of God.
The few chapters ahead will be an eye opener to you and equip you with knowledge to build a good home to the glory of God and admiration of the world. It will also help you change your wrong thought patterns and mindset, which have become mental strongholds and blockades to the effectiveness of
