About this ebook

Terra never knew her father, but she did know that it was his fault that her childhood was ruined. She ended up in one abusive house after another because her mom had the worst taste in men after Terra's father abandoned her. As an adult,Terra finds his address and sends him eight letters describing her life to him, including the different things her mother's boyfriends had done to them, the friends she had made and lost, and even the story of her first love. She wants to make him understand all that has happened without him. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Full of anger, distress, and love, Terra tells her life story, and she doesn't even know if her father is reading it.

Jaclyn Lewis

It's probably about time I update this thing. First off, my name is Jaclyn, named after Jaclyn Smith, so it has no 'k' or 'q' or 'e' as everyone but close friends would believe. It's simple. Easy. Unique. My favorite pastime--I should probably say reading or writing but that's what everyone would expect--is bowling, playing with yoyos, and Rubik's cubes. I live in a small town, one smaller than even Forks, and my favorite color is yellow. I don't know if I'm a good writer or not, but like everyone, I'm trying to improve. That's why I'm here. It's an experiment--helping me strive toward my ultimate goal: excellence. This is one more step to reach it.

    Bonus Chapter

    Mom,

I know you did the best you could. It wasn’t always smooth sailing, but it was a good life.

Even after everything that has happened, I’m proud to call you my mother.

I don’t know why, but there’s one more thing I have to do.

I have to talk to my father.

    Letter #1

    January 1, 2016

    Dear Mr. Stanley Overstreet,

I am contacting you now to tell you a few things.

First of all, this is the first of many letters that you will be receiving from me. Second, these letters might abruptly end because, at some point, I will be unable to continue.

Also, there are many reasons why this letter has no return address. I don’t want to see a giant RETURN TO SENDER stamp on it when you discover who it’s from. I don’t want you to know my name. I don’t want you to know where I live.

And I don’t want to get anything back from you.

Now, here is the real kicker, Mr. Stanley Overstreet. Once you read this next sentence, you will forever be a changed man, so if I were you, I would consider continuing.

    I am your daughter.

Again, I don’t want you to know my name, or my age, or really any real information from me. I just wanted you to know I’m here. Reaching out to you.

If you’ve read this far, your eyes are probably wide and your mouth gaping, and that’s okay. It’s okay to be surprised sometimes, and it wasn’t until recently that I decided to do this. Mom didn’t want me to, telling me she tried getting in touch with you all those years ago, when she first found out about me. You didn’t even remember who she was.

This is my revenge, in a way, Mr. Stanley Overstreet. I will be changing the names in these letters, but these events will be completely true. I am going to tell you about my life, and you are going to read about it.

If you wish to ignore these letters, then that is your prerogative. I don’t care. This is the life you could have had, but you turned it away. I won’t even know if you
