Since You've Been Gone

It has been almost four years since my mother died. The emotional tangle that I have found myself wrapped up in has changed me in profound ways. Those first few months were numb yet raw at the same time and I found myself writing as a way to cope with the overwhelming feelings that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere. I started blogging these poetic reflections as a way to reach out and share a bit of myself with those that I love. Now I want to share some of that with you. My writings are purposefully generic and simple so that the reader might find it easy to relate them to their own feelings and experiences. Thank you for entering my world for a time. Jill Marie Baker

Ms. Baker grew up on military bases and joined the Army straight out of high school. She then went on to earn a BS in Early Childhood with a Minor in Criminal Justice. She held a number of jobs afterward working with teenage parents, juvenile delinquents, and homeless families. She earned an MS in Administrative Studies during that period. THEN she became a wife and mother - and it changed her life. Her husband currently owns a children's music business and she has been lucky enough to be a part of it for over ten years. Ms. Baker resides in Sioux Falls, SD with her husband and two sons.
