    The pitch-black night air passed through Jameson like a baneful ghost, as he the offices sliding door opened. He rubbed his grayed, callused hands. Jameson stepped out into the starless night, lighten up only by a dim street light. As he pulled his beany over his bald head, a hand patted him on the back. The man smiled, and Jameson waved back. His other colleagues wished him a good night and Jameson did the same, the air in his lungs pluming into fog as it escaped his chapped lips. As he walked to his car, Dana walked past, shivering in the winter breeze. Jameson jogged up next to her, taking off his overcoat, and wrapped it around Dana. Dana blushed and kissed Jameson on the cheek. Waving at Dana as she got in her car, Jameson touched his cheek and smiled.

    Jameson, Jameson, wait up, Mr. Schmitt, Jameson’s boss, said.

    Yes, Mr. Schmitt? Jameson asked. Rubbing the sides of his arms.

    Just got off the phone with Henry from accounting. He says that he won’t be able to come in Saturday to work on the numbers he missed today, Mr. Schmitt said. I need you to come in Saturday to resubmit his numbers.
