    Introduction

Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.

    Earl Nightingale (1921-1989)

    ––––––––

You are a powerful being that is not only beautiful in every way but is also limitless in your potential and powers of the mind.  Many people just plod along in life and hope that nothing terrible will happen to them along the way, without embracing the overwhelming power that their subconscious mind has to offer.

    ––––––––

There is a big difference between your conscious mind (waking mind) and subconscious.  The subconscious is a part of your brain that operates in the background, usually inaccessible, yet this part of you is actually running the whole show.  It is your subconscious that will give you a sense of worry or distress when faced with the prospect of walking down a dark alley.  This is known as your intuition.  If you ignore this instinctive feeling of eeriness it may cost you dearly.  You may not have noticed anything to be worried about but your subconscious is always on the alert and always working to process data at an incredible rate.  It doesn’t want you to walk down that dark alley for a good reason.

    ––––––––

Instinct is one of the things that must be listened to yet it is also one of the most ignored aspects of our thought process.  The subconscious mind will see things that your conscious mind simply ignores.

    ––––––––

When trying to access and reprogram your subconscious there are a number of techniques which have been practised by countless generations but have been put aside in our modern world in favour of a more hectic, stressful and negative way of living.  The techniques described in this book will aid you in reaching into the depths of your mind to bring about real and lasting positive changes to your life.

Be aware of your thoughts... always

Day by day, what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become.

    Heraclitus (c. 535-475 BC)

    ––––––––

Did you know that your entire life, and all possible futures for you, is controlled by your thoughts?  There are anywhere from 12,000 to 60,000 different thoughts going through your mind on any given day.  Although this will seem like a lot of work, you need to begin monitoring your thoughts to ensure that they are positive and congruent with the present and future that you wish to see unfold.

    ––––––––

In order to make this monitoring task a little easier, you can monitor your emotions instead.  It is impossible to be having positive thoughts if you are feeling bad, so every time you do feel bad, angry or sad it is your cue to change how you think.  This is one of the easiest things to do... just think about something nice such as:

    A funny joke

    Your soulmate

    Your pet

    Your quirky friend

    A loved one

Happy occasions from your past are brilliant for this process but, be warned that the past will also contain a lot of negative experiences.  Do not allow your brain to wander into those negative past experiences.  Once you are able to focus on only the most positive of thoughts your emotions will shift into the good and happy ones like joy and elation.  As long as you are feeling good you are thinking good thoughts.  This should not be a long drawn-out process, but rather one which happens in an instant.  It will be like flipping a switch in your brain from negative to positive.

    ––––––––

You could also cue this process at any time by keeping a list of things that make you feel overjoyed with happiness and referencing this list several times per day.  This list could contain anything that is personal to you as a written list or series of pictures on your smartphone.  It is best if you refer to this list at set times each day because your subconscious mind will, after 31 consecutive days, begin to associate these times with the new habit of consulting this list.

    The power of positive thoughts

A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.

    Wade Boggs (1958-)

    ––––––––

The difference between a negative thinking person and a positive thinking person can be very dramatic.  If you constantly worry and think about the worst case scenario when it comes to, let’s say, your finances then you will set yourself up for a constant barrage of bills and financial disasters.  Instead, think only of prosperity and abundance.

    ––––––––

When faced with any negative situation it is important to realise that things can always be worse and formulating a positive outlook has the power to turn a negative situation into a far more favourable one.  This positive outlook should begin the moment you wake up because the subconscious mind has no idea what is real or imagined so it is possible to fool the subconscious into believing that your day has worked out positively and in your favour before even starting the day.

    ––––––––

Your conscious thought process begins the moment you wake up so this is the most important time to get your thoughts on the most positive things possible.  Each morning spend at least 10 minutes lying in bed
