BE STILL
Be still my sweet in the knowledge of love,
Heart felt with a passion that burns,
Embrace the feeling of completeness within,
Dispel all uncertainty and needless concerns,
The past cannot dictate the future we desire,
The Web of deceit no longer surrounds,
In the darkness a beating will always been heard,
But be still for my heartbeat is causing the sound,
As I lie with contentment engraved in my face,
Subconsciously reviewing what we’ve been put through,
In the knowledge that all that I yearn for, desire,
Each day when I awake, I see this in you,
I will be faithful and always be true,
I’ll always be with you, you know that I will,
So give into sleep and find peace in the night,
Rest now my darling, I love you, be still,
Nothing will break down the bond we have fashioned,
Nothing can harm, all our dreams we’ll fulfil,
Ease into comfort and nestle beside me,
Welcome your slumber, hush now and be still.
ONLY THE WIND
You hear the floorboards creaking you glimpse a silhouette,
You remember scenes from horror films you really should forget,
The sound of distant breaking glass suddenly sounds so near,
You hug the bedclothes trembling in fear,
But it’s only the wind, so close your eyes,
It’s not death that’s come a knocking, so save your last goodbyes,
Return to dreams, you’re all alone,
Rest peacefully, feel safe, secure at home,
It’s only the wind.
You visualise a stranger creeping up the stairs,
But when you venture out there’s no one there,
And when the curtain sways your heart will jump again,
Thinking that someone’s trying to get in,
But it’s only the wind, so don’t be scared,
Next time it reoccurs you can be prepared,
Go back to sleep and
