The Fantastic Freight Train of Friendship and Other Such COnnections

About this ebook
, The Fantastic Freight Train of Friendship and Other Such Connections, represents 10 years of friendship in the making. I use many styles and meters of poetry informed with rhythm gained from a lifelong love of world music to describe the many emotions found in such a long friendship. The title of the manuscript is derived from a mutual interest my best friend and I share in trains and the imagery with which I started the project.
Veronica Bergschneider
As a musician first, Veronica Bergschneider finds herself fascinated with rhythm and rhyme in poetry. She naturally falls into rhyme while writing on a wide variety of subjects. Veronica began the adventure of words at the age of 15, and can't shake it to this day. She lives in Hagerstown, Maryland with her husband, Mike and our daughters.

The Fantastic Freight Train of Friendship and Other Such COnnections - Veronica Bergschneider
Dedications
This book is dedicated to
The closest people whom
The Good Lord has given to me -
First, the one who became not only friend, but family:
Mike, my husband,
A truly open-minded man
To whom I always return when he
Allows me to learn by setting me free.
Secondly, to our daughter, Anna, who
With God's help, led me to
A wonderful friend outside the family,
My best and truest friend, Danny,
The one who has taught me the meaning of
True friendship and platonic love
That brings to my soul a healing balm
And into my life a sense of healing calm -
Thank you all - I couldn't have done this without you!
Questions
Why should others care if we are
In a friendship that's come this far?
Who says it needs to be
Left up to anybody
Else to come along and say
There's no possible way
That you and I could
Ever be anywhere near good
Enough for each other to spend
So much time becoming friends?
How can anyone even try
Or want to deny
Another's company before having been
Able to make a friend?
Where do people find
Such a state of mind
As to say because someone is different
A friendship cannot be meant
Between those who see the gold
In each other's soul?
Oh, when will every
One on earth finally
Learn to accept one another
Making friends with each sister and brother
So that all may truly
Live in peace and harmony?
Accept or Deny
Accept my friends or deny me
For my friends are my true family
Not telling me what to do
But cheering me when I am blue
A true friend has a heart of gold
And comforts me mind and soul
Sharing life in good times and bad
Until the day we all are glad.
My true friend does not accuse
Me of sins and give me the blues
But stands by my side
As I learn not to hide
How I have come to feel
Full of love so deep and real
That sometimes it still feels too good to be true
To have a friend as special as you
With whom I’ve developed that divine holy love
That allows us to transcend above
What sinful souls may think
As they farther from glory sink
While we continue to grow
And flourish in the happy glow
That only those who share it understand truly
Its depth and beauty
As through our actions we show
How others can find friendship’s glow
If only people learn to open their mind
Will they ever really find
The way to the glory of
Such a wonderful, friendly love.
Others' Jealousy
There's a distinct possibility
A spate of pure jealousy
Causes others to remain bound
