GR WILSON is to Coaching as Waiting Tables is to Acting; between teams having emigrated from London to New York City, he sat in his studio apartment, on Thrift Store Furniture with a phenomenal view of the East River and started typing. After eighteen days of late summer sunshine and inspiration in 2013, the story of ten months in his basketball life that began at the turn of the millennium was finished and in your hands fulfilling his lifelong ambition. He foolishly followed that in 2017 with a entirely dispensable guide to New York City living titled "Save Our Salary: NYC" which gives readers over $35,000 of savings for New Yorkers and Tourists alike. Let's Make America Cheap Again. @iamGRwilson

DEDICATION TO SAVING SALARIES:
In a space typically reserved for loving family, trusty editors and honest friends, this isn’t one of those books and I’m not one of those writers so we’ll move swiftly on to the first salary saving suggestion cunningly hidden in the section that no one ever reads and always flicks straight past.
There’s every chance you haven’t found this book particularly funny just yet. But that will all change when you pick up your two free tickets to one of the city’s top comedy nights at the Gotham Comedy Club thanks to our friends at The Blacklist NYC. Register at www.theblacklistnyc.com and before you know it, you’ll be laughing at how you got into a network television comedy show when other people have paid over $15.
I’ve seen fellow British jokesters like HBO’s John Oliver, Craig Ferguson and countless others who are actually American at no cost. So keep on walking passed the Times Square ticket sellers and their two drink minimums. Smug in the knowledge you’ll have a better time anyway, because this stuff is actually going to be on the telly and will definitely make you laugh.
So with that in mind, you may have noticed by now this will be quite a conversational style of prose. So if that isn’t for you, then just take the aforementioned gratis night out and let someone else have your seat in Barnes and Noble. Because it’s always busier when it’s cold or wet outside. However, if this is for you, then read on. But don’t bother flicking to the middle of the book for the obligatory six pages of black and white pictures. We couldn’t afford them in the first run. Maybe in the next Save Your Salary city.
The median US personal income in 2015 was $30,240. This book will save you over $37,000 in your first year in NYC. Native New Yorker, Tourist or just arrived, there's something here to save your salary. Eat your favorite food, wear designer clothes, watch the Yankees, drink free beer all for free or a fraction of the cost. All for 0.01% of the price of this book. Let's Make America Cheap Again.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
GR Wilson is to coaching as waiting tables is to acting; between teams having emigrated from London to New York City, he sits in his apartment, on thrift store furniture with a phenomenal view of the East River and types.
His first book, SEMI: PRO: AM: The Basketball Reality You Never Knew, chronicled the rollercoaster ride of the pinnacle of British Basketball at the turn of the century. That season saw him coach in 14 different countries during 80 games in just eight months. Thus sparking a growing interest in travel writing during the monotony of bus rides and airport delays that accompany professional second tier sport.
Since then and having driven well over 10,000 miles of the USA including Route 66 and the Pacific Highway in a ford focus, he’s also been driven around Australia in a Greyhound bus. So he’s literally as qualified as the next man to write about it. Regularly among the top one percent of contributors to travel websites with 100,000 or so regular readers he wishes he’d had this idea years ago, as flights back down under are pretty expensive nowadays.
His experience of moving to New York City in the balmy summer of 2013 have shaped his latest work. Which he insists will be all together more useful than his last book that cornered the somewhat niche market of British Basketball and its 916 fans. So this book is the money saving combination of those three years he and his wife lived happily and busily on an average American salary in the Country’s most expensive city.
As always, you can let him have it in more ways than one, on the most back dated of social media outlets @iamGRWilson

THE SMALL PRINT:
Here’s how this all works. Everything in this book has been tried and tested by me and the lovely lady who shares my New York experience. Therefore, savings are based on two people in most social situations for entertainment, food and other things where animals go two by two.
Other categories such as housing, utilities and financials are based on one person for obvious reasons. The aim of this book is to save you the median US salary of $30,240 in activities that many people happily pay for, which you can now access and enjoy free of charge. We’re happy to announce, the savings are way over that threshold in this first edition already. The total saving is actually
