About this ebook

There's a lot of information out there about how to sell books on eBay

But there's nothing quite like this

I'm going to show you how to tear apart old books and magazines, repackage them for sale on eBay, and how you can easily turn $15.00 into $250.00.

Sounds impossible, doesn't it?

I know all of my friends and relatives thought I'd lost my marbles when I told them what I do for a living. And, you can hardly blame them.

Hey there. My name is Nick Vulich. Most people online know me as history-bytes. Over the last fifteen years I've made a living tearing apart old books and magazines and reselling them on eBay.

Yes! You heard that right.

I remove magazine articles, prints, and advertisements from old books and magazines, and resell them to ready buyers on eBay.

I know it sounds kind of nuts. But, over the last fifteen years, I've sold over thirty thousand magazine articles alone. I've shipped them to China, Russia, Mexico, India, Australia, just about every country in the world.

It's an amazing business

Think about it for a minute. I take old books and magazines that libraries and individuals are ready to throw away, tear them apart, and sell one to ten page chunks to ready buyers around the world.

And, here's the best part!

They pay me $15.00 to $50.00 for each of them. Several have sold for over $250.00 each.

How crazy is that!

If you've ever considered selling books or paper collectibles on eBay, this short guide can help you better understand

Why you need to read this book

I’ve been selling on eBay for nearly fifteen years now. For the majority of this time all I’ve sold is books, magazines, and prints.

Book selling is a great niche market on eBay. There are millions of ready buyers scouring the market day in and day out looking for every day reads, and collectible treasures. For sellers, that means there’s money to be made, if you offer the right product that people are looking for.

Another great thing about selling books is they’re easy to get ahold of. Every garage or estate sale you visit has box loads of books starting at 25¢ each, or less. Library book sales offer thousands of inexpensive books. If that’s not enough Craigslist is burgeoning with books for sale, and books people are giving away just to be rid of them.

Probably the best source for buying books and magazines to resell is on eBay itself. I know, it sounds counterintuitive, buying books on eBay to resell on eBay. As you get more into eBay, you’ll understand why this is so. Many sellers rush to post listing after listing, struggling to make a dollar or two from each book they sell. When they do this, they ignore what the book is really worth. These are the sellers who tell themselves, I paid a dollar. If I can get two bucks I double my money.

My take on selling books and magazines is a little different than what you’re going to hear from most sellers.

The typical advice is that you should buy a scanner and a book app and hit every major book sale you can shopping for inventory. The idea is you’re going to find a lot of duds, and a few gems buried in with the crud. These sellers advise you to bring boxes, carts, and other paraphernalia, so you’re prepared to hit the sale running. That way you can get to the good stuff before other sellers discover it first.

I look at books a little different.

I consider myself to be a value added reseller. When I see a book or magazine, I always ask myself what’s the best way to present it to bring the maximum return. Sometimes it means breaking the book up to sell the individual illustrations or chapters separately. Other times it means, deciding how to market it, so the right people can find it. Then it’s a matter of writing a great description, adding enough pictures to give buyers a good feel for what it’s all about. Finally it’s a matter of determining a price where I can make a decent profit.

And, just so you know, I don’t price anything cheap.

If I buy a book for five dollars, ten dollars, or twenty-five
