    Introduction

Over the centuries, a very special creature has captivated our imagination: the dragon. Leaving their mark in various cultures throughout history.

There was a time when a powerful scholar dominated the Kingdom of the dragons. Years passed, would soon become an old man, it was time to inherit his kingdom. He proclaimed a call throughout the region, to find a substitute to represent him. It amounted all their hopes on a child, thinking it was chosen to continue his reign. But he was wrong.

This disgraced breaking the rules had given him, making his only surviving dragons died. All for the challenge, that challenge his fearsome younger brother, Nicanor, For the love of a woman.

The Kingdom of Dragons was given to Heraclio, god of the tempest, who had him under his protection and for a long time nobody heard from him.

Having no dragons to leave to dispute the conquest of the most valuable Rocks, to bid for the governorship, the competitions were canceled until the day when Basilio issued an order that surprised everyone, wanted to find a successor to the Kingdom of the dragons. He organized a competition to discuss the conquest of the Rocks, whom obtained, it would be granted their domain as well as the deepest desires.

Parents who have lost their dragons could not compete again, with their children who fight, to expiate the dishonor committed by their parents. To do this, they should join the prestigious training school dragons: Cuntendron, through each of the stages of learning.

Over time, Cirilo, a scholar exile, he placed his hopes on his son, who disappeared without anyone knowing if he was alive or dead, causing lived for years under the shadow of his firstborn. But an orphan boy living under the abuse of his older brothers, Cirilo woke from their slumber. He saw in him all the qualities and virtues that had his son, the same who had taught him, for that reason, asked him to participate and represent him in one of the big competitions to be held in Humbherland.

This, he sculpted his dragon on sacred lands, to dig a splinter accidentally acquired great powers, making Draco–Man.

    Humberland and magic

Between the storm and rough howling wind, a crying heartbroken and scared among the emerald green hidden valley where lived the orphan Doreon Cumbert child and his three brothers are mixed. Doreon Cumbert was not just an orphan, but also endured abuse of authority by his older brother Rudolf, twenty–five, who exercised the role of cruel father. Without also having his impertinent brother who preceded him, Orson eighteen.

The winter was being longer and crude than before. Doreon eleven years and younger sister, barely possessed coat that protects it against the bitter cold. Only had an old broken blanket that had left his older brother to take shelter from the harsh winter months, while their older siblings lived in plenty, warmly sleeping all winter. They did not care to see her sister Coni, such was the youngest of six, sleep almost every unsheltered nights as Orson, the second brother, made him a visit every night to remove their only blanket, for it all coat seemed little and once got what he wanted, off to sleep without guilt, just the opposite, slept with a smile.

It was a stormy night, Doreon still awake, he was frustrated by the helplessness he felt at the injustices committed his brothers, especially with small Coni. That night, Orson not take the blanket up to his sister, the heartbreaking cries alerted Doreon, decided to stay lying down and wait for sleep to surrender.

Distraught, she noted that Coni, while he slept, was discovered when moving from side to side. He went to his bed, covered it carefully with his old blanket so he would not wake up cold. When he got up in the middle of the night, the little brother called her and asked if he could get into bed with him. Doreon gladly acceded, as his own father.

After shelter her and leave her asleep he looked out the window. He noted the green valley around them. He was curious to know what was behind those backwaters that separated his house across the valley. He recalled that Rudolf had forbidden them to use the boat to cross to the other end. He also prevented talk about his parents,he fell asleep and immediately reconciled sleep.

Moments later, Orson stopped listening Doreón sobs, rose stealthily out of bed and up the stairs he watched his younger siblings sleeping peacefully in a deep sleep. He went to bed Coni and the blanket was. He went downstairs and got into her bed leaning over the torn blanket.

A Orson did not care that was broken or old, all that pleased him, was take her and leave her sister without shelter, knowing he had the power to get what he always wanted to be pleased.

Orson slept, like his brothers. Suddenly, lightning struck the valley near his home and Doreón awoke with a start. Coni small fretted shivering. As usual, he did not hesitate to pass it on to his bed to keep her warm next to him. While stroking her hair, he said softly: Mom back someday and see what she wants us not abandon us. A tear slid down her pale cheeks of Doreon, when he uttered the name of his mother. Moments later, he managed to fall asleep. He knew at the time that his brother would not rise for another blanket, having already achieved its purpose.

Dawn had come, Doreon woke up and the first thing he did was look out the window and watch the valley and the boat remained moored at the lake shore. This time he was determined to challenge the authority of Rudolf, wanted to cross the valley at all costs. I was curious about who else lived and why their brothers were isolated from everything and everyone.

Coni soon wake up. He doreón not hesitate to withdraw from the window and approached his sister. –– Good morning –– Coni said gently rubbing his eyes.

–– Good ones princess days –– sweetly replied his brother, taking a seat beside her. –– You have to wrap up warm, very cold outside ago. We have to cut firewood and milked the goats. Lots to do –– Doreon advised her sister, helping her to dress in an old scruffy cream sweater and long white skirt woven.

–– Do you think that Rudolf will feed us? –– He wanted to know Coni sadder.

–– I'm not sure, but do not worry, if you do not eat breakfast, mid–morning, when you go to the market of the town, I'll see to get something to eat. –– Doreon said.

–– Okay –– said Coni, revealing a big smile on his face.

–– Come get down the stairs !, let me go ahead –– Doreon said.

–– I want to go forward, never let me be the first –– Coni reported.

–– No, sister, you have to listen to me, do it for your sake, let me go first, you could fall and who would hold you –– Doreon said.

–– True, but not delay down –– agreeing Coni said.

Doreon never allow her sister descended before him. Not because I wanted to have the command, on the contrary, he did so to protect her from Orson, who always waited to throw down the stairs to the ground, leaving it reached the top step. It was appropriate that Coni was thrown, much damage could be done, thought Doreon.

–– This time there will pull me –– spoke to Orson Doreon facing him at the top of the stairs.

–– We'll see if you do not fall –– Orson said, smirking breath. Orson wobbly stairs to Doreon fell face down, Coni was about to go down when his brother shouted to warn him not to. She stopped and did not go down.

–– Leave him alone! –– Asked Coni very angry.

–– Quiet, already tired –– he spoke Doreon, holding firmly to the walls of the stairs.

–– Fall down, Fall down, you'll fall (Bum, Bum), Orson repeatedly said, shaking the stairs without stopping.

Coni was so nervous that shrank in the wooden floor and curled up, covering her ears said again and again: cartridge, I can not hear you, cartridge you do not listen. He kept repeating the same phrase, rocking back and forth, pressing her delicate ears with small hands, not to listen to Orson.

Doreon felt helpless, there was no one in authority in the house to curb the situation. Tears streamed down her pale cheeks in anger he felt toward his brother at the time. One of the tears came to rest inside the mouth of Orson. This was sickened when throwing a big spit and returning to mock the tears of Doreon, not hesitating to annoy him further, saying that the day was just beginning.

–– Whine, you're a crybaby, cry like a lady, crybaby –Orson said without stopping, sharply shaking the stairs.

–– Someday pay me, I swear –– he said Doreon crying.

Orson heard it began to laugh out loud, I knew I had the power and authority over his brother. He was aware that he had a big advantage, was taller, stronger and full of energy to trample. Instead Doreon was fragile and small in stature, had grown little by not properly fed, also worked as an adult, doing all the housework, since her parents left.

All this bustle was interrupted by Rudolf who was in the room, for the first time preparing a great breakfast.

–– What is happening here? –– Rudolf asked angrily, approaching them and eliminating gaze.

Orson wiped the smile and replied: –– It Doreon, do not want to lose.

–– Lie! –– He raised his voice very upset Doreon.

–– Shut up, who asked you anything, you speak when you order it. Did you clear? –– Rudolf said.

–– Yes brother –– he replied quietly Doreon.

Rudolf, distrusting what Orson said, said: –– Let it quiet today expect a very busy day, it is desirable that no harm is done or else you will work for them.

–– You've gotten rid of it –– whispered Orson, when Rudolf walked into the dining room to sit down for breakfast.

–– Get out of my sight! –– Doreon said downstairs. Coni and calm, Doreon down when it ordered.

Small house passed around the room to go out and start a long day of work, but noted that in the table were two plates, two glasses, two spoons and two large pieces of baked bread accompanied with a piece of cheese. They also realized that there were two huge jugs of fresh milk on the table, it seemed that morning, Rudolf receive a special visit. The truth was that he had prepared everything for Doreon not swoon, as on other occasions, leaving the job half done, but this time Rudolf would ensure that there was no excuse. He would have to finish everything he had ordered.

Coni not take his eye on the big breakfast. He looked at his brother and told him as they walked toward the exit door of the house:

–– Wait brother, ask a little bit of bread and a cup of milk please –– Coni insisted, pausing.

    Doreon staring glumly replied:

–– Sister, never give us anything, if I find some edible berries I will give you, then you prepare a tea and return to eat the leftovers when they are finished.

–– No, not this time, I'm tired of not being able to eat what we work, ask a little bit of bread, even a crumb, please –– Coni insisted sadly.

Doreon feared his brothers, but for the first time, could not resist the appeal of his sister. I could not afford to cry for some food, it was not fair.

–– Okay, but if they come to hit me and I throw the dishes, salt and wait for me in the shed, do not let them find you, hide –– Doreon said.

–– It's okay. I will run like a deer –– Coni said, without being aware that his brother could deal it Rudolf several lashes.

–– Rudolf, I beg you, you give me a piece of bread for our sister and a glass of milk? –– Doreon stammered and protecting his sister after.

–– Pleas ?, ha ha ha brother see that you learn as you go who cares since our parents left us your guilt –– it states Orson.

    –– I, 'So–what–you–laugh –– Doreon stammered, staring at Rudolf.

–– I know what you want, I need not repeat it –– Rudolf spoke up from his chair.

At that moment he thought he was going to pounce on and did not hesitate to go back one step, protecting his sister.

–– Quiet, I will not hurt you, I just want you to take a seat and sit. Dishes, cutlery and everything else is for you now to breakfast –– Rudolf insisted sitting back.

Doreon looked at her sister distrustful without guard down. She made her sit beside him at the other end of the table, if his brother flew into a rage as usual.

–– Thanks for giving us eating brother –– Doreon thanked politely, taking a seat.

–– Thanks brothers for breakfast –– Coni said sitting in weakness –– is wonderful Doreon, today we all ...

–– If sister, now eat it all and let's get to work –– recommended Doreon.

–– Yes, that exactly. Eat everything you can, you will need –– Orson blurted.

–– Today I let you share my table and my breakfast, because today more than you ever will need all your strength to collect and cut firewood you will need for the winter is coming –– Rudolf said.

–– That same brother –– Orson added.

–– But it's much amount –– called Coni swallowing a sip of milk.

–– You know it's impossible that we do everything today brother. The days are shorter and at sunset the cold is very intense –– Doreon said.

–– That's not my problem. You do not think that I access that you share my breakfast table for nothing, Doreon? If I allowed desayunéis me and I have bothered to prepare all this, it is because I want corteis firewood for the winter and you do it today. You have understood…? He firmly Rudolf –– I speak.

–– I'll try –– Doreon said, lowering his head, getting a big piece of bread into his mouth.

–– How did you say? You say you're going to try brother? I think it has not been clear you –– exalted Rudolf said.

––You Do not expect me to do? –– Orson interrupted.

–– Yes, it would be a good idea that you help us –– Coni snapped.

–– I did not say that, just ... –– Doreon excused himself.

–– Silence! –– Rudolf raised his voice. –– Do not get smart with me. Tonight I want all the wood in the shed or otherwise do not answer me. Did you understand now what you face?

–– If Brother, I will, that's for sure –– said Doreon.

Orson smiled quietly enjoying the situation, while it swelled like a pig eating.

–– Come Coni soon finish breakfast –– asked in a broken voice Doreon.

The little soon drink the milk as fast as he could, taking a large piece of bread with her for the evening, because they are not going to let them eat anything until you end up with everything that had commanded his older brother.

Doreon differed from his older brothers both in behavior and physical appearance. Her blond hair. It was large blue eyes. His physique was slim but wiry, not very tall for his age. His face was a little pale. Instead Rudolf like Orson, had a healthy appearance good–– looking, with haircuts as care. Rudolf wore a black hair and had big dark eyes. Orson looked Instead, like her sister, a natural brown shining by reflected sunlight. His eyes were the color of honey, like those of her sister. It was fibrous and higher than Doreon.

Although Doreon not fed well, always available strength and even he knew where he came from. Instead her younger sister, she was too tired when they performed forced labor. It was obvious that a six year old girl could not do the hard work that corresponded to them, was not a job for her, but for his older brothers; but as no one was watching and no parents in the house and ordered Rudolf did everything it seemed to him. Doreon dark, silent with fear that his older brother, discharged his anger about his sister, to hurt him.

Outside the mansion, he sets Doreon find the ax to cut firewood. Coni entered the shed and put his piece of bread saved from the goats to eat later. Leaving the store, his brother spotted rummaging through old trunks last year that were on the floor full of herbs.

–– What are you looking brother? –– Coni asked approaching.

–– I'm looking for the ax, Did not you've seen out there? –– Doreon said.

–– If clear, I have seen her in the cellar –– Coni said.

–– Huy less evil, bring it to me please sister –– asked Doreon.

–– De brother Okay, now I bring you –– Coni said running to the shed.

–– Do not go playing with it, be careful, you could hurt –– Doreon warned.

–– I'll keep that in mind brother –– said Coni.

Coni approaching his brother returned with the ax in his right hand. And he said:

–– Here you have it. ––

Doreon stopped heaping few sticks that were damaged by the ground and taking the ax, he left on the brush.

–– Now let's get more wood –– Doreon said.

Coni, running from side to side, into the woods happy, as if it were a walk. Doreon enjoyed watching his lovely sister tinker alone.

–– Sister, now you will help me carry this trunk is very big and I can drag myself.

–– Come on, between the two we can see that before the coming of dusk and we're done and we will again feed –– spoke Coni.

–– I'm not sure sister, just in case, keep good bread you will need –– Doreon said.

–– Bread is for the two –– Coni answered.

–– I know sister, do not worry about me. Not how to explain, I never feel hungry, I've realized I can go days without eating and I still hungry –– Doreon said dragging the trunk with the help of Coni.

    –– May're sick –– Coni added.

–– It may be that, but ... What explanation is there to keep it alive and full of vigor despite my appearance? I always feel energized to work ... –– Doreon said.

–– Because you're very strong, I suppose it's that brother –– Coni said.

–– Ya ya, –– Doreon said ditching the conversation.–

have arrived, let's leave here, we go for more. Let's split, the wood you find along the way leave her here –– Doreón said.

–– Okay, who have accumulated more –– excited Coni said.

Doreon took all the wood he met on the road and then cut was piling up. Coni to a great effort to haul the logs so we can continue to help.

In one of his searches, Coni away penetrating the forest to the lakeshore, not realizing that his brother had been alerted by their loss. Worried began to look for her everywhere, calling loudly to hear him, but did not get any response, little had been absorbed admiring the beauty of the lake and the immense landscape, observing the thought of such beauty inability to cross to the other side of the valley. I did not know that was behind the lake and because he radiated such beauty.

Doreon and near her sister, shouted again:

–– Coni, sister Where are you? –– He repeated Doreon with a worried voice.

–– Here. Here I am –– Coni raised his voice.

Doreon away the leaves that separated him from her, she hurried over and scolded her for disappearing like that. When he realized that his sister ignored him and continued absently watching the scenery, stopped scolding him and looked at the beautiful panorama that never imagined existed, it was there in front of them, just a few meters away and all between them and prevented were exploring it, were the clear waters of the green valley and the prohibition of Rudolf.

–– Look brother, Is not it beautiful? If only we could cross and reach the other side! –– Coni asked excited.

–– If sister, but we can not cross, may never get out of here, Rudolf would kill us if we disobey the rules, do not look for problems. Let's get more wood, I have to finish cutting it before it gets dusk, that we will feed and this time feed tries everything you can, so that when you go to bed not you wake up in the middle of the night to ask me food, you know that I may not take any food –– spoke Doreon.

–– I know brother, tonight will fill me and I promise I'll let you sleep in peace, unmolested –– said Coni, sad.

–– No, no sister annoying me, only it hurts not being able to take your hunger when you ask me. Hopefully soon change our situation –– Doreon replied

–– Why do you say that brother? It is that you plan to elope and take me with you? –– Coni asked.

–– I can not come on anything, all I can say is that someday ... Remember and never forget what I'll say, someday we will be free, as we have always wanted, as we deserve ... –– Doreon said.

–– Hopefully day arrives that soon brother! I'm tired of working, I can not play, I wake up and no breakfast, not even feed us, just remember that we exist. All they have in mind is to get to work and work. I'm tired, if not for the milk they drink from the goats, and I would have starved. We eat when they want to finish what we're told –– Coni said, pausing. –– Brother, why Rudolf have us as their slaves?

Why do you hate us so much? Why ?, I love him. Why he does not want me? Did I do something wrong to not want me? –– He wanted to know Coni sadly, dropping tears.

–– No, you never think that sister did nothing wrong –– said Doreon wearing the latest logs collected to the pile.

–– So, why not to us? Why do we work so much? it –– persist Coni.

–– I do not know princess, for that I have no answers. Since I woke up one day and Mom was gone, she began to treat us well, blame us for their abandonment, especially me. Mom said that was because he did not want us because we gave a lot of work ... –– Doreon said, wiping tears with dirty hands.

–– And you think that's true? –– Coni asked interrupting.

–– No, not at all, she wanted us, she wanted her two young children more than anyone in the world, I'm not sure, but had to have happened something very serious to abandon us like this ... –– Doreon said.

–– Do you think it will someday? Does he think mom in us? –– Coni asked.

–– Yes, I'm sure they think of us, but I do not know if I ever will. You were a baby and you did not realize what was happening, but instead I was old enough to know that we had left ... –– Doreon said with tears streaming down her cheeks.

–– And Dad, why he left leaving too? –– Coni wanted to know.

–– Could not answer small, all I remember is that disappeared months before Mom and nobody ever heard of him –– said Doreon lamenting.

–– I would have liked to know –– Coni added.

–– Stop it –– Doreon raised his voice angry. –– They will not come back, Do not you see abandoned us? Do not you realize you're alone? I took care of you until today and will continue to do so. has done you need a mother and a father and much less will not make you lack. I'm here to protect you ... –– he said Doreon eyes flooded with tears.

–– Yes, do I need, it is not the same, I miss my mother's touch, his warmth, his shelter, which entertains me at night and I sing like you do; I love my mom, do not you understand? I want her back with us –– spoke Coni crying.

–– Quiet, calm down, I want to return, but do not know if that will happen –– Doreon said throwing the last logs on others. –– Come sister, let me hold you. Now I do not want you to think more, take it easy. I know this is difficult for you, so it is for me. Now listen, think of us a little, rest, we must continue no longer gathering sticks with which we collected we have enough, it is sufficient for the winter. Now go and take the bread that you brought and eat, I will finish the rest –– spoke Doreon.

–– No, I want also help you cut it –– I replied quieter Coni.

–– You're small and do not want you to hurt yourself, rest and eat that I will cut him off, so we'll be done for dinner –– Doreon said.

Coni agreed and went in search of the piece of bread he had put on one of the old shed shelves, to remove it from view from the goats. Meanwhile, Doreon stared at the sunset sitting between chipped and sturdy trunks, thinking about what he had asked her sister about her mother. Coni returned shortly afterwards with a glass of milk, which she had milked one of the goats on the roof, bringing the piece of bread to share with his brother. He refused to take him to not take his only bite. Neither wanted to, in any way, drink a sip of milk and proceeded to cut logs as quickly as he could. Meanwhile, Coni enjoyed his snack, sitting on a log width that served as chair, watching his brother and commented innocently, with his mouth full of bread, how wonderful afternoon was turning in his company. Doreon lamented and told his sister, while cutting firewood, everything would be really fantastic, but it was because they worked under pressure.

The evening had come unleashing a cold air. A Doreon he still had some logs to be cut. Coni had fallen asleep under the dark sky and the winter cold. For a moment he stopped cutting and threw a log on the other, he dropped the ax and watched his sister shivering. He did not hesitate to go to the shed to find an old piece of canvas to shelter her. He found it and took it. And he covered it back to guarecerla.

–– What happens brother? –– Coni whispered half asleep, without getting up and turning to see his brother.

–– Nothing princess, still asleep soon finish –– whispered Doreon sheltering her.

He got up and looked that he still had to cut wood and sighed. He walked with the ax and began to cut logs that remained anxious him.

In a couple of hours, no more, he finished cutting the sticks he had ordered his evil brother, just lacking save in the shed and take some home to turn on the fireplace.

He felt something cold. An icy wind blew in the middle of the night. A few hours before midnight and had finished saving the logs cut in the store. He returned to his sister stood and watched. She thought of waking her, but remembered he had to still carry some wood to the house to light the fire. He decided to let her sleep a little longer. He picked up the logs left over and went to his home. He pushed the door on the right foot to enter. As I walked down the hall with attached log, he looked at his brothers sitting at the dining table, there were two empty plates where they serve dinner, if time ended to cut the logs. Orson did not hesitate to disturb the child arrogantly when he saw releasing the wood inside the fireplace.

–– I see you've already finished brother –– said Orson from the table –– And by the way, where is the brat ?, sure to be tired, not because you will have to work hard, right ?, said she had no I do, that's your job and not hers –– Orson insinuating.

Doreon still trying to light the fire, ignoring everything he was saying. Orson persisted to get their attention and got it:

–– Did you deaf? Are not you going to answer me? Where is the waste of your sister? –– Orson asked.

In the same instant he lit the fireplace, walked back and stood. With anger expression and anger he replied without losing his composure:

–– It has fallen asleep from exhaustion and job burnout, which I belong to you two. Any more question, brother? –– Doreon asked defiantly.

–– Enough! Tonight I do not want to become another hell as on other occasions –– said Rudolf. –– Go through the small and bring her to eat before you remove the table.

Doreon heard Rudolf, casting a look of anger at Orson, noting that there was a quizzical smile on his face. He walked out the front door and went to find his sister. When he arrived where he stood, hunched over and slowly knelt, not to frighten her. Doreon rubbed his arms through the night cold to warm. He was waking up slowly, sensing that something was wrong. Coni rustled and had no strength to open his eyes just blinked a few times and saw her brother beside her. Doreon concerned, he held with great effort, taking her in his arms. He walked toward the house. He entered and left lying in one of the armchairs loveseat was in the living room. He hurried to the kitchen to get some water. While taking the earthenware jar that had filled his brother with water the day before, he noticed that Rudolf was watching and Orson continued eating as if nothing was happening.

–– Bring your sister and sit down to eat –– said Rudolf.

–– Today we are not hungry –– claimed Doreon.

Doreon left the kitchen with a glass of water in hand, going quietly into the hall. He hunched his sister's back, trying to hold her delicate little head.

–– Baby, you have to drink, you have to. Awake! –– Insisted Doreon. Coni not open his eyes for a single moment and showed no signs of life.

Doreon despaired, began to mourn and to curse his brothers, insisting without releasing her to wake up and drink the water that had brought him, but it was useless. He had a very high fever have been sleeping on the grass outdoors.

Rudolf, who was eating in the kitchen, he realized that something was happening to Doreon and did not hesitate to leave the large piece of meat that was put into the mouth, carved on his fork, to see what really happened to her brother.

Orson seeing the attitude and intention of Rudolf spoke:

–– Do not be silly, do not you realize you want attention, I'm pretty sure they have everything planned between the two. That brat is the same as always doing little theaters.

–– Shut up, I have not asked your opinion, you're just like your father, I'm in charge, you're not who to tell me what to do. You better shut your mouth and you keep eating or else you who do tasks Doreon –– Rudolf spoke withdrawing from the table and going to the salon to meet his younger siblings.

Orson continued at the table eating mad by what he had told his older brother.

–– What happens Doreon? Why not arise? –– Rudolf asked Coni approaching and putting fondly for the first time, his hand on his forehead.

–– I do not know what's wrong, she fell asleep on the grass by fatigue. I asked him to rest. It's my fault she be so, I should not have let her work so much –– crying Doreon said guiltily.

–– Quiet, drop it, leave it lying down, so will be better. The water will not remove the fever, what happened is that you caught a cold. I should imagine, she should not be outdoors, especially now that winter is coming –– Rudolf spoke.

–– What happens? Rudolf What can I do? –– He wanted to know Doreon concerned.

–– Coni has a fever, it happened because his body was exposed to cold and moisture too long. Very weak –– Rudolf said sorry. –– Water will help but will not lower the fever. I'll make a concoction, now I'll bring it. Stay with her here tonight, you can not load up the stairs –– recommended Rudolf kindly, seeing the suffering of his younger brother.

Doreon not remember the last time his brother had been kind to them, neither had noticed his nobility; all I knew at that moment was that
