First, thank you to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins and who loves us and His precious creatures, too!

Dog Tales is also dedicated to my family, close friends, and prayer warriors. A special thank you to the incredible dogs I’ve adopted over the past forty-five years. All are featured in this book, along with treasured friends and neighbors. These pets faithfully exhibit the true meaning of Jesus’ Beatitudes recited on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3–12).

For blessed are the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek,

those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, and those who are persecuted because of righteousness. They remind us of God’s powerful blessings for those who follow and serve. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.¹

God bless precious orphan children and animals still needing homes. May they find forever families! For Jesus says, I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you (John 14:18).²

IT IS MY GREAT PRIVILEGE to write these words of introduction for my friend, Teresa Herbic, and her new work, Dog Tales. I have known this wonderful author and her family for several years now and have had the opportunity to meet some of their pets. This fine adoptive Christian family truly exhibits in their relationships with others, and with their animals, the values laid out by our Lord Jesus
