A Childs Garden of Suffering

As you look through

the windows of this

story book, you see

withered gardens and

empty brooks.

A mother born in a summer

solstice, free to roam

the earth,

gives birth to a

child who is sullen and

frail.

The tale unfolds of this

child, as she tries to

play in this garden of

darkness,

she knows no better,

and is forgotten.

Growing older she forsook

this path and at times

this book is put

on a shelf where she can

hide, pressed in the pages,

taken out for brief stages

of time.

Her mother is gone, yet

her blood still flows

in her daughter's veins,

her voice echoes in her

brain.

As the pages continue to

turn in this book
