    Introduction

    Isaiah 52:7:

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Good news is from God, and any time God has a message for a person, group of people, or generation, He always sends a person to deliver the message, or plan to His people. Many young Christians are in a dilemma about who to marry, and want the right person to marry, so that they will not make a mistake, and have problems in the future. This book you are holding in your hand is the best answer you have in understanding and choosing the right person for your marriage. It gives you the comprehensive knowledge of what marriage is all about and how to make your choice based on the Word of God.

As you are reading this, may God breathe upon your understanding, and reveal to you your perfect wife or husband.

    Chapter 1

    God Ordained Marriage

    Gen 2:18, 20:

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him….And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

The primary reason God ordained marriage was to help man. According to the scripture above, Adam was not lonely as wrongly taught by people, but rather he was alone. Being alone has to do with the physical relation to something else. Adam was alone in doing what God brought him to do. That means he was doing it alone with help from no one else; whereas loneliness is a thing of the mind. You can be in the same room or house with people, but still you feel lonely. Adam was not lonely because God was visiting him and communicating with him.

THE REASON AND PURPOSE FOR MARRIAGE

Therefore, the reason God made Eve was to help Adam to fulfil his purpose. The purpose of marriage then is for a helper in order to achieve a great result to what God has brought you to do on earth and to achieve it in an easy manner. The book of Ecc 4:9 says, "Two are better than one".

Remember, Adam was having a good result; he was naming the animals as God was bringing them to him without any difficulty. However, if Eve had been there when he started, the time it took to complete the task would have been less, because Eve would have been helping him to name the animals, or even suggesting names to him. As God was forming the animals from the ground and bringing them to Adam to name (Gen 2:19), He must have seen that it was taking him a bit of time to do it. Little wonder then that
