Entire set—6 3/4-oz. Balls.
Cap and Sacque—5 3/4-oz. Balls.
Cap and Booties—2 3/4-oz. Balls.
2 yards 1 inch ribbon- and 4 yards of narrow ribbon.
1 Ball of Color will be sufficient for entire set.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 1.
SACQUE 2001
YOKE. Ch 82, d c in 4th st from hook (the ch 3 at beginning of row counts as 1 d c), 1 d c in each of the next 13 sts, 5 d c in next st (seam st), 1 d c in each of the next 8 sts, 5 d c in next st (seam), 1 d c in each of the next 30 sts, 5 d c in next st (seam st), 1 d c in each of the next 8 sts, 5 d c in next st (seam), 1 d c in each of the next 15 sts, ch 3, turn.
2nd Row—Work 1 d c in each d c to center seam st, 5 d c in center seam st, 1 d c in each d c to next center st, 5 d c in center seam st and continue in same manner across row, work 5 d c in each center seam st.

CROCHETED BUNTING 2002
Materials Required–AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY

SHETLAND TYPE FLOSS OR

WOOL FLOSS
12 1-oz. Balls Pink or any color desired.
2 1-oz. Balls White.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 3 5 Yds. 3/4 inch Ribbon.
Gauge—3 Star Clusters = 1 inch. 3 rows = 1 inch.
Make a ch about 45 inches long, yarn over, insert in 3rd st from hook and draw loop through, yarn over, skip 1 st insert in next st, draw through, yarn over and draw through all loops on needle, * ch 1, yarn over, insert in same space with last st, pull through, yarn over, skip 1 st, insert in next st and draw through, yarn over and draw through all sts on needle, and repeat from * until work measures 38 inches, cut off remaining ch, ch 3, turn.
2nd Row—Yarn over, insert in 3rd st from hook, draw through, yarn over, insert in next st, draw through, yarn over and draw through all loops on needle, * ch 1, yarn over, insert in same space with last st and draw through, yarn over, skip 1 st, insert in next st and draw through, yarn over and draw through all sts on needle, repeat from * across row. Repeat last row until work measures 28 inches.
Next Row—Start decreasing for hood edge.
Continue in pattern decreasing 1 star cluster st every 3rd row 4 times making all decreases on one side. Continue decreases all on one side. Then decrease 1 star cluster every other row 3 times.
Next 10 Rows—Decrease 1 cluster st each row. Next 2 rows decrease 2 cluster sts each row, fasten off. With White work a row of s c all around.
Next Row—Beading. Ch 6, yarn over needle, insert in 4th st from hook, pull through leaving all loops on needle, yarn over needle, skip 1 s c, insert in next s c and work off all loops on needle 2 at a time, * ch 1, yarn over needle 3 times, skip 1 s c, insert in next s c and work off 2 loops twice having 3 loops left on needle, yarn over needle once, skip 1 s c, insert in next s c and work off all loops 2 at a time, ch 1, d c in center of double treble to form a K, repeat from * all around, working corners without skipping the s c between sts.
Next Row—5 d c with ch 1 between in center of K st, ch 1, s c in center of next K st, ch 1, repeat from beginning all around working 7 d c with ch 1 between in corner sts.
Fold in half forming a triangle. Measure about 27 inches from lower edge of short sides to rounded corner and place a marker on each side, then measure about 10 1/2 inches from center of rounded corner and place a marker. Lace ribbon through from side marker to center marker then to other side marker forming a semi-circle for hood leaving ends to tie.
Fold each short side in half and beginning at neck edge lace ribbon through both sections of each side forming the shoulders. Lace ribbon through remainder of bunting. Lace ribbon through front of hood.
Fold point up as illustrated and tie.

SURPLICE SWEATER 2003
Materials Required–AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY

SHETLAND TYPE FLOSS OR

3 1-oz. Balls White or Colors.
Star
Mercerized Embroidery Cotton, 2 yds. each Pink and Green.
1 Pr. Bone Knitting Needles No. 3. 3 Buttons.
Gauge—7 sts = 1 inch. 9 rows = 1 inch.
BACK. Cast on 68 sts, and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 2 inches. Change to stockinette st (K 1 row, P 1 row), and work even for 4 inches.
Next 8 Rows—Cast on 7 sts at the beginning of each row and work 3 inches even.
Next Row—On right side, work the first 51 sts and place them on a stitch holder or thread, bind off the next 22 sts for back of neck and K remaining 51 sts.
*Next Row, purl to within the last 18 sts, K 3 sts, P 4 sts, K 3, P 4, K the last 4 sts, turn. K 4 sts, increase in the next st, K to end of row. Repeat from * thus making a border of 4 sts and increasing in every K row at neck edge until sleeve measures 6 inches at wrist edge.
Bind off 7 sts at sleeve edge every other row 4 times continuing pattern and increasing in every K row. Work even at underarm and continue increasing at front edge until front measures same as back to the ribbing ending at front edge and having an even number of sts on needle.
Cast on 4 sts at front edge (band for fastener) and work in ribbing same as back.
Pick up the sts on st holder and beginning at neck edge work other front and sleeve to correspond increasing in the 6th st instead of the 5th.
Pick up 40 sts at lower edge of sleeve and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1 1/2 inches. Bind off.
Press work under a damp cloth.
Work rambler roses as illustrated.
Sew underarm and sleeve seams.
Crochet a row of s c around back of neck.
Fold right side over left side and crochet 3 loops on right side at waist line for buttonholes. Sew buttons in position. Finish left side at waist line with snap fasteners.
