GETTING STARTED

For a more custom fit, alter the stitch count. For instance, if your foot is long but narrow, follow the cast-on and stitch count directions for the small size, but work subsequent directions for the instep, heel and ankle in the lengths described for a larger size. If your foot is short and wide, follow cast-on and stitch count directions for the large size, but work subsequent directions in lengths described for a smaller size. To fit someone whose foot isn’t readily available to measure, use these standard measurements to approximate the “Knit to x length” directions. Women’s Shoe Size 5 (5.5, 6, 6.5, 7,/8, 9/4, 9/8, 9/2, 9/8, 9/4, 9/8, 10, 10/8 10/4”) Men’s US Shoe Size 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 11, 11.5, 12, 13, 14) Inches 10/8 (10/4, 10/8, 10/2, 10/8, 10/4, 10/8, 11, 11/8, 11/4, 11/2”)

Glossary
Plastic-head pins are useful for checking tension and blocking out items. Pins with coloured heads are best because they do not get lost in your work. A row counter is helpful for keeping track of rows worked, particularly where increases, decreases
