MANAGE YOUR BUSINESS AND GET RESULTS WITHOUT STRUGGLE - Ali Mwambola
CHAPTER 1
PROBLEMS OF MANAGING BUSINESS
1.1INTRODUCTION
Managing business is very difficult. I have been a manager myself so I know what I am talking about.
You work hard to develop your management and leadership skills to help you manage a business. Sometime you feel you are achieving the business goals, but then ... suddenly you realize there is a down turn in operations and you fail to achieve the desired objectives
And now the dilemma begins...
Your board of directors or the business owner becomes impatient to let you continue to achieve less than what was planned
How do you get out of such unpleasant situation?
1.2 PROBLEMS FACING MANAGERS TODAY
When you are a manager of business or an organization and you fail to achieve desired objectives, you can’t properly focus on growing the business or organization. The panic and worry dominate your mind and nothing works the way it should
When you are not able to achieve objectives e.g. profits, then cash flows of the business will be affected, the business won’t have funds to spend on marketing, no cash to pay creditors etc and it can be an endless struggle to keep things in order
If this situation continues without any improvement, you will be stressed out and all you can think about is getting out of such a situation before something really bad happens to you
With no training on how to achieve objectives, your primary barrier is struggling to achieve objectives to keep things rolling
If you fail to achieve objectives continuously, your business will very likely fold
I know that’s not what you want and it is not what I also want. You have ambitious goals and dreams of doing great things with your business and you should have the opportunity to make it a reality
As a manager you put your neck on the line, take the risks and create amazing solutions... helping also countless people (including employees) along the way
If many managers are failing, something is fundamentally wrong with the way things work. That is the reason I want to play my part in helping you overcome such challenges
1.3 GETTING OUT OF THE UNPLEASANT SITUATION
So, here is an awkward situation: There is no practical training institution that can teach you how to successfully get out of unpleasant situation of not being able to achieve desired objectives.
Many colleges and universities teach good stuff on management and general business fundamentals, but let me ask you a very important question:
How much experience do most of the University professors have in managing businesses successfully? Unless you are lucky to get one professor who does have such kind of experience, then you are on your own
As I mentioned earlier on, one of the primary problems to overcome management challenges is that you are pretty much on your own
And since there is almost no training, education or support available on the subject, you have to take your best guess and hope things work out
I am pleased to inform you that my firm – AVIC Consultants has created and refined a powerful system that can help you succeed in achieving desired objectives easily.

CHAPTER 2
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
2.1 INTRODUCTION
Businesses are established by owners to fulfill purposes. The owners in turn delegate the role of fulfilling purposes to Board of Directors. The Board of Directors appoints a management team to manage the business to achieve desired results or objectives.
In this regard it is your responsibility as CEO or Managing Director to ensure that the wishes of business owners are fulfilled.
To succeed in fulfilling the wish of owners you MUST establish an environment for workers or employees of your business to work hard so that desired objectives are achieved
The foregoing clearly shows that you have an enormous task of ensuring the wishes of business owners are fulfilled.
If you fail you’ll definitely be fired. That’s the reality of things...

2.3 PLANNING PROCESS
As CEO or Managing Director of a business you are the custodian of the planning process. In this regard, you must make sure that decisions are made in planning concerning the organization’s mission, philosophy, policies and objectives and methods of achieving the objectives
The decisions that you make are those that have long term consequences for the entire business. They are made in response to the anticipated environmental threats and opportunities in the future

CHAPTER 3
MANAGING A BUSINESS THAT FAILS
If your business fails, then the first person to be blamed is you as the Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, General Manager, Director General, etc.
This means that any failure of business is blamed squarely on you and your management team.
In my experience as Chief Executive and Consultant, I have seen many Executive Officers been fired because they could not achieve desired results.
In most cases the businesses failed because the CEO failed to apply his/her management experience and leadership skills
Given below are some of the issues which were not properly handled; thus contributed to the business failures to realize desired objectives.
3.1 ABSENCE OF FOVOURABLE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Management completely failed to establish an environment conducive for employees to work hard so that they realize desired results (objectives).
This involves a systematic approach designed to assist individuals or groups of people to work together to get things done in an organized way. It is a method which sets out in logical fashion, a step by step approach in any task or job
When a team of people is working well
