Introduction
This book was written to help take you, as an individual in the Kingdom of God, from where you are to the place where God wants you to be.
The body of Christ is made up of many parts. If you were to ask the average believer today, Who are you in the Kingdom of God?
you would get a staggering, I don’t know,
from approximately eighty percent of them.
Unfortunately, there’s not much teaching in the church today about spiritual gifts and how to use them in the Kingdom of God. The spiritual world operates by faith. The Word of God tells us that faith without works is dead (nonoperational). James 2:24 says, For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
The purpose of this teaching is to acknowledge who you are, to whom you belong, and why you’re here. When God transforms you, you look nothing like your past you. The people who knew you when you were living out life in your old mindset will have to be introduced to your present renewed mind. Strip yourself of your former nature (put off and discard your old un-renewed self) which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; and be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind (having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude), and put on the new nature (regenerate self) created in God’s image, (Godlike) in true righteousness and holiness
(Ephesians 4:22-24 Amp. Emphasis added). Even your old enemies won’t recognize you.
Being transformed is a process; it involves building a relationship with the King of kings and the Lord of lords by reading the Word of God, doing the Word of God, and renewing your mind. On your journey, you will encounter many trials. You will face many challenges, disappointments, loss of family members, and personal possessions, but God will never leave you nor forsake you. I found out that God is always on time, so I pray that as you read this book, it will be just what you need and right on time.
Heavenly Father, I just thank you, Lord, that in Your Word it says that we are supposed to renew our minds with the Word of God. So, I am praying, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, believing that everyone who is reading this book will develop a new mindset and experience a closer relationship with You. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray, amen.
CHAPTER 1
Born Again
"Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the Kingdom of God." John 3:3 (Amp. Emphasis added)
The first thing that you must establish is where you are now. Are you saved? Do you know what God’s assignment is for you and your life?
If you are not saved, that needs to happen as quickly as possible. Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) says, That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
What is the heart? The heart is the center of your being, where life (blood) flows through. The heart is also your thought process. …For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks
(Matthew 12:34b). Wherever your heart spends most of its time is who, where, or what you worship most.
When it comes to someone’s belief, it takes time, but once you’re there, you shall not be moved. You cannot force others to believe because God said that He would draw them to Him. John 6:44 (KJV) says, No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him…
What I have found out about salvation is that if it is not done from the heart, people tend to walk away. Some parents try to force salvation on a child and think that this young person will walk out the call of God on his or her life. When people, young or old, are drawn by God’s Spirit, it is less likely for that person to walk away from Christ. It would be evident to them because they feel and hear God for themselves.
I believe that you can’t be saved unless you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s not based on what Mama says, what the pastor says, or what anyone else says; it’s based on what the Bible says. Countless believers out there have never experienced Christ because they are trying to please man.
My salvation was dramatically different. I woke up one morning and thought, "This is the last straw." I don’t remember what was going on at the time, but I know that I was tired of it.
That same day, I was invited to attend an Aglow meeting, held by a group of praying women. When I arrived, I saw something that seemed strange to me: an old woman sitting on a bale of straw. I found this to be so weird, especially since I made that comment earlier that morning. Deep inside, I knew something was going to happen but had no idea what.
While teaching, the lady suddenly stopped, looked up, and said, I hear you.
Looking around, I wondered, "Who is she talking to?"
Then she looked into the congregation and said, This morning, someone said, ‘This is the last straw,’ If that was you, come up here.
With my heart pounding, I stood up and walked to the front.
