PREFACE
In over thirty years of ministry I have never seen more of a need to be properly identified in our Christian walk. So much of the philosophy that this world holds as their view on things has permeated the Church. The Word of God clearly shows us that there is a line drawn between light and darkness, sin and righteousness, blessing and cursing, as well as life and death.
Contained within the volume of this writing are truths that define true spiritual law. When we know the truth
then we can understand where the dividing line rests between the lies of the enemy and the light of our creator. That is where we gain valuable information on how to make the right choices in life.
This book has come together over many years of experience dealing with what I have entitled, Spiritual Schizophrenia.
I’ve watched people become victimized by their lack of the knowledge of God. I’ve seen the downfall of many precious saints who never really took hold of who they are in Christ. But the most abhorring part, which I have dealt with countless times and what really motivated me to write this book, is how religious thinking and vain traditions have made the Word of God of none effect. Far too often people use the thoughts of man to salve their own conscience instead of taking a stance on what the Bible says.
In the truth of God’s eternal light there abides a message of an abundant life Jesus came to give to all. I have sought to share some of the most pertinent facts concerning redemption that I believe will bring soundness to the Christian’s way of thinking. I firmly believe that this book is ordained of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and has the potential to change your life. May God open up his Word to you through these pages until your mind is completely renewed to who you are in Christ.

FOREWORD
When I first learned of Dr. Bob Dean’s interest in writing this book, I had some indication of what direction he was going to pursue. I knew from all the years of our association that his heart burned with a desire to see people discover the keys to living the best that God has to offer.
Dr. Dean has taking the subject on Spiritual Schizophrenia
and explained in detail how Christians live far below their privileges in Christ. He points out how so much of what bring believers into the conflict of spiritual and emotional instability centers around the unrenewed mind. He also presents the solution to becoming strong and stalwart in the faith, and what it takes to live an overcoming, victorious Christian life.
Dr. Bob Dean is a consummate author and teacher on the subject of redemption. Early in his Christian life God began showing him the depths of Christ’s substitutionary work, and how the Lord identified with all our weaknesses and failings on the cross. It was through his death, burial, and resurrection that God fashioned a new man, a new creation man—one who would have all the attributes of the divine nature.
This revelation enjoined the author to a quest that has compelled his ministry for nearly 40 years. The drive and determination to bring people into an understanding of their rights and privileges in Christ
is not only his passion—it is his assignment. The call to teach and train everyone that sits under his ministry is more than just a truth he embraces—it is a divine mandate. And like any well-accepted
and well-honored
instructor, he knows from experience the matter of which he speaks.
This is a book that should be read and re-read by every child of God. It is far more than just a literary work—it is a manual for living. Each chapter builds line upon line, precept upon precept. It explains the struggle of compromise.
It enumerates over and over again how the Christian wrestles with two minds—one spiritual and one carnal. It fashions a picture of the God-man, Jesus Christ, and how he subdued the powers of darkness and broke the stronghold of the law of sin and death over man. In the manner of any valued artisan, he brings you face to face with how to choose and be governed by the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.
I highly recommend this book to every person—from the unsaved sinner to the sincere and sanctified saint. It is indeed a message. One intended to bring a challenge to your walk with God, and yet, at the same time inspire hope.
As you embark on what lies within these pages, I trust you will not only discover Why some Christians live like Hell,
but in the midst of it all, you will rediscover How you can live a life of heaven on earth.

Chapter 1
Spiritual Schizophrenia
The word schizophrenia
comes from two Greek words: SKHIZEIN (to split) and PHREN (mind). I’ve been a pastor and teacher for over thirty years. I have seen many people born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, and have observed the spiritual growth of many hundreds of Christians over the years. One major challenge that has presented itself is, Why does a person, who has been born again and even baptized in the Holy Ghost with Biblical evidence of being filled, have such difficulty behaving like the Bible says a Christian should behave?
For some scriptural insight into this, let us look at Romans 7:18. For I know that in me (that is in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
This was the great Apostle Paul writing and expressing a frustration that plagues many of God’s saints. He goes on further in verse 19, For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not that I do.
Sound familiar? In the next verse there arises a theological question that has caused a great deal of confusion in the body of Christ. Verse twenty goes on to say, Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do but sin that dwelleth in me.
This has led to the teaching that a born again Christian has two natures in him; the nature of sin and the
