About this ebook

The book The Heart of Worship is a book that tackles the subject of christian worship in Spirit and in truth. No one can worship what he or she does not know therefore getting to know God is the first step in worshiping God truly. The world over is full of earnest seekers, men and women are looking for something that is beyond their reach and have been told that such a thing does not exist. A lot of others are seeking for a level of Fulfillment and satisfaction and have been deceived into experimenting with the occult and harmful substances because the truth has been hidden from them. CHAPTER 1

    A VERY GOOD PLACE TO START

    ⁴ Hear o Israel: the lord thy God is one LORD;

    ⁵ and thou salt love the LORD thy God with all thine

    Heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

    Deuteronomy 6:4-5 KJV

    Oh! How the church of Christ today seem to have lost this revelation, the LORD thy God is one Lord, it was so clear to the Israelites. They had one God, one LORD, he it was who was to be loved, revered and worshipped. They could love Moses, but Jehovah was to be loved more. Their sanctuary in the wilderness was a sight to behold and even years after when Solomon built the temple and God’s glory filled it, the people were to love Him who dwelt majestically and gloriously within the holiest of all. Today with the number of churches around and increasing every day, those who worship in these churches begin to think and confess that their churches are better, more inspirational and more satisfying. We have fallen in love with our religious endeavors, our missionary activities and expansion projects but we have lost fellowship with our brothers and sisters. Some claim to worship God better than the other, leaving true seekers of God confused and wondering, What is worship? it was Moses’ call to Israel to worship one God, who had brought them out of Egypt, the same call is needed today. The trumpet call rings loud and clear, calling us back to worship.

    What Is Worship?

    If you are reading this book and you are born again, then you already know who is to be worshipped. If you are not born again, kindly turn to the back of this book and pray the prayer of salvation and then come back here. GO THERE NOW!!!

    There is one God, the father of whom are all things, and we in him… 1 Corinthians 8:6

    Only God is worthy to be worshipped. Why? Because, he created the heavens and earth:

    "…for He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters." So we know who is to be worshipped. How then should he be worshipped?

    "And in the process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the lord.

    And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat things thereof. AND THE LORD HAD RESPECT UNTO ABEL AND TO HIS OFFERING.

    BUT UNTO CAIN AND TO HIS OFFERING HE (GOD) HAD NOT RESPECT. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell."

    Genesis 4: 3-5 KJV (emphasis mine)

    Then Peter opened his mouth and said, of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness is accepted with him.

    Acts 10: 34-35 KJV

    Two brothers, Cain and Abel, both brought offerings to God as an act of worship, but while Abel and his offering were accepted Cain wasn’t. Now when asked why this happened, the answer we get is that Abel brought a blood sacrifice and Cain brought vegetable. While this may be true, I have a few things to say here:
