0. Introductory comments

Well welcome to session four of our discussion about Divine Truth. Mary is with me again today and we are going to discuss a few more qualities of Divine Truth. Remember in the first session we discussed what Divine Truth was and how it contrasts to personal truth, and we also discussed some of the qualities of Divine Truth, but not in very much detail. Then when we came to the second session we discussed the first seven qualities of Divine Truth in a lot more detail. So remember these are the qualities of Divine Truth or God's Truth that you can use to determine whether something you see on Earth or in the spirit world, or in any aspect of life, is true or not. And so we discussed the first seven qualities in the second session. In the third session I think we only covered three qualities actually.

Mary: Yes, eight to ten.

Eight to ten in the third session. In this session we're hoping to cover the last four qualities that we wanted to discuss with you, but we're not sure whether we're going to get through all of that material either, so we'll just see how we go.

Mary: We get a bit excited about this topic, don't we?

Yes. So bear in mind that all of this material is the basic lead-in material to how you can determine what God's Truth is, in contrast to what is other people's personal truths, which are not necessarily God's Truths, and all of God's Truths have these qualities that we've been discussing in these sessions. And so what we'd like to do now is discuss the next four qualities if we get that far. So welcome to our discussion and I hope you enjoy it.

1. Quality eleven: What do you mean when you say that, Living out of harmony with Divine Truth results in penalties or consequences?

Well we need to remember that Divine Truth is God's Truth and we can use the term God's Truth interchangeably with God's Laws, laws that govern the Universe. So all of God's Truths if you like are all laws, they are written in stone in the sense that they are unbreakable, you can't modify them or change them. There is a hierarchy of laws though, so we need to discuss some of that with this section, but basically whenever we refer to God's Truths we're referring to God's Laws and like all laws, if you break the law there is a consequence or a penalty for breaking the law. Also like all laws if you live up to the law or live in harmony with the law there are benefits or pleasures that come from living in harmony with the laws.

So all of God's Truths have this underlying quality and that is every single one of God's Truths is a law and every single one of God's Laws has a benefit for living in harmony with it and a negative consequence for living out of harmony with it. You could call the negative consequence a penalty for living out of harmony with it, and that is the way God has structured the Universe in fact.

Now if we can understand that, then we start to understand why we experience pain and suffering, why we experience other things - other than pleasure - and we can start to understand that every single time pain and suffering is involved in our life, it's an indication that we've broken a Law of some kind; it might not even be a law that we are conscious of, but
