Chapter One

Great. I'm being paired up with Josh? The quiet, weird one. The short, nerdy guy whom I’ve never actually heard speak. How come I couldn't have been paired up with one of the tall, hunky guys? I mean, he's the opposite of all the other guys in the office. The other guys in the office exude male dominance. They're always competing with each other acting all macho. They even have sweaty, testosterone filled basketball games in the warehouse. It's all quite a show really, and all the women drool over them. Josh is too short to play basketball. He's too quiet to keep up with their trash talk. And I'm the one who got paired with him.

After our partners are assigned, everyone splits up into groups and disappears. He strolls up to me quietly with his hands in his pockets. I'm squatting down on the floor picking up my papers when I look up to get a good look at him. He's wearing neat slacks with a snug button-down shirt tucked in perfectly. My eyes can't help but be drawn to his broad chest. I never noticed it behind his desk across the office from where I sit. He passes by me all the time to go to the water cooler, but I'm usually too engrossed in my work to pay him any mind. How could I have missed those broad shoulders? From my peripheral
