Love in the Late Late Afternoon
()
About this ebook
They both had broken hearts. They each had lost a loved one, not instantaneously like the novels purport, but slowly and agonizingly over time. By both accounts it was a terribly difficult time mentally and physically. It was bad enough to see your loved one lose identity, spirit, and vitality, especially when you couldn't do or say anything to make them better. That love had been half their heart, and now each day seemed long and hurtful. Friends came by and offered help, solace, and prayers yet the darkness was still there. In the quiet of the evening there was an emptiness. It seemed the moon just didn’t seem to shine as brightly.
However this story is not about the bad times. It is about the times to come, times of great gladness, joy and love. The future held a rebirth, a second love, which was not going to replace the first, but build on it and make their final years truly golden.

About the Authors
Introduction
I heard this story one evening at dinner with friends. At first it seemed like all stories of its kind, sweet and uplifting. Later when I looked back on that evening, I thought that the story was intriguing. I decided to talk to the two involved as I wanted to check the veracity of their story. We talked for hours and what I heard that night was that the story was not only true but more amazing than I first thought. While writing these words I came to several realizations. First, if love is in the cards neither miles nor spotty communications can deter it from coming to fruition. Secondly, that a developing love affair may well be enhanced because of those challenges. Finally, that love at 70 can be just as passionate, and perhaps more real than that of younger years.
Here then is their story.

Before I get too deeply into their story, now might be a good time to introduce you to Bill and Jenny.
Bill is a dreamer, a romantic, and interestingly also a pragmatist. He was 73 when he lost his first love. His best friend and wife was an RN. She had a pragmatic side as well which was tempered by her caring philosophy. He too had spent his
