As long as I can remember I have always loved everything and anything to do with the romance genre. Enjoying writing, reading and watching a wide range of love stories. I am a true romantic at heart! So after studying for a philosophy degree and then going on to work in a corporate job in advertising, I decided to reconnect with my passion again! I now write mainly romance short stories, with the aim to share all of my ideas with others who also have an interest in romantic fiction. I write in a range of romance subgenres including erotic romance, contemporary, sweet, paranormal/fantasy fiction and historical. I hope to continue writing as long as my ideas keep flowing out from my mind. In early 2014 I experienced my own personal love story, when I married my one true love. I now live together with my husband in London.

The Lost Gentleman - Elizabeth Reed

    Chapter 1

‘Sir...sir can you hear me at all? Please open your eyes so I can know you are not badly hurt, please Sir!’ Millie found herself speaking desperately in her panic as she leaned carefully over the body of a man laying down awkwardly and seemingly unconscious on the sandy floor.

‘Millie...do you think, you know...do you think that he is dead?’ Millie’s sister Lucinda voiced the dreaded thought as she stood up from behind her.

Not answering Lucinda at first Millie reached for the man’s wrist to feel for his pulse.

‘He’s alive, he’s alive!’ Millie turned to her sister with relief, ‘go get Tony and the other men we need to bring him back to the house. And run Lucinda there is no time to hesitate, we do not want his condition to worsen. I will watch over him while you are away.’

‘Sorry...of course yes, I will send for help,’ Lucinda snapped out of her trance that had had her staring down at the man to turn to run back as fast as her legs could carry her.

‘Who are you, Sir? Where do you come from?’ Millie asked the questions out loud although she did not expect any answers as she looked down at his pale face. Taking in his masculine chiselled jaw and prominent roman shaped nose with the result that she soon found herself taken aback when she realised that she actually thought him attractive, in a ruggedly handsome way.

‘Well we will find out the truth about you Sir when you are all mended,’ Millie concluded as her gaze finally rested on his sensual looking mouth, which automatically unleashed a stirring from inside her which made her feel a combination of both guilt and excitement.

    ‘Lady...where...am I?’

Millie found herself stunned into silence for some moments as the man held onto her left wrist, as he spoke with panic and tried desperately to move from his position.

‘Please stay where you are...my sister
