About this ebook

This is a steamy historical romance short story (word count 6,341).

Roger, the Viscount of Goldsmith, thinks that at long last he has found just the woman to tame and satisfy his desires, in the form of Miss Lucinda Travis.
But in order to get his heart’s desire, he is met by a number of obstacles.
Firstly that the lady he has set his sights upon is no other than his best friend’s sister in law, who wants Roger nowhere near Lucinda, being very much aware of Roger’s reputation and past exploits.
Then there is the distraction of his pursuit of Lucinda from jealous unstable husbands.
And not to mention the biggest problem of all, to get Lucinda herself on side accepting all that he feels for her.
All these problems leaving Roger thinking about whether he took too long to reform his infamous character with the result that he may now lose out on his one chance at true love!

Elizabeth Reed

As long as I can remember I have always loved everything and anything to do with the romance genre. Enjoying writing, reading and watching a wide range of love stories. I am a true romantic at heart! So after studying for a philosophy degree and then going on to work in a corporate job in advertising, I decided to reconnect with my passion again! I now write mainly romance short stories, with the aim to share all of my ideas with others who also have an interest in romantic fiction. I write in a range of romance subgenres including erotic romance, contemporary, sweet, paranormal/fantasy fiction and historical. I hope to continue writing as long as my ideas keep flowing out from my mind. In early 2014 I experienced my own personal love story, when I married my one true love. I now live together with my husband in London.

    Chapter 1

‘I must say, Christopher, your sister-in-law Lucinda is looking very well tonight, very well indeed!’ The Viscount spoke with admiration as his gaze focused on the blonde haired attractive female standing in the corner of the ballroom. She was laughing merrily with her sister Millie beside her, as they both looked across the crowded hall which was half filled with dancing couples.

‘Roger don’t even think it!’ Christopher’s voice became immediately serious.

‘Think what Christopher?!’ Roger replied back coyly.

‘You know what....I am warning you. Lucinda is my sister officially now, and a dear one at that, I will not have her becoming one of your conquests do you hear? She deserves much better than that…much better than you.’

‘No need to hold back on your harsh words and tell me what you really think about me,’ the Viscount spoke dryly, ‘you might not believe it but a part of me feels offended that you have such a lowly opinion of me.’

‘Come on Roger can you blame me for my words?!’ Christopher turned to his best friend in surprise to see that he actually appeared a little hurt just like he
