The pond was not very large by most standards, but of a respectable size, nonetheless. It had at one end a small creek pouring slowly into it, and at the other, a beaver dam blocking the creek, thus creating the pond.

Here is where our story begins, with a big green bullfrog.

The big green bullfrog squatted on top of the huge slimy boulder, scanning the quiet pond below, through almost closed eyelids.

Every now and then, he'd bellow out a loud,

The sound would echo across the pond, bouncing off the reeds and willows nearby. Nothing stirred.

The big green bullfrog, slowly blinked his eyelids and ran a wet red tongue over wide lips of his large mouth, slurping up the drool that hung down in large globs.
