Lemons are housewives' best friends.  By using extracted lemon juice, you can say bye, bye to a range of stains that had been annoying your households.  Using lemons in household activities can even help you save on your budget.  Here are some of the useful household tips where lemon is active.

    House Cleansers

    All-Purpose Cleaner

If you want to cut on your household budget, you can start with making your own all-purpose cleaner.  You can use this in almost all your household cleaning as it is safe on all surfaces and even around animals.

    Ingredients:

2 tbsp. of pure lemon juice (fresh-squeezed)

    2 tablespoon of baking soda

3 cups of very hot water

    Empty spray bottle or bucket

    Instruction:

    Prepare your hot water.

Add baking soda and mix to uniformly distribute throughout the water as it dissolves.

Add lemon juice and stir well.

Transferor put the mixture inside the spray.

Spray it on soiled surfaces or anything you want to clean.  Remember this is an all-purpose cleaner.

Wipe the surface using a clean, damp cloth.

Pour down the drain excess mixture.  It can help unclogged drainage, too.

Lemons are kitchen-friendly and can work well with both odors and bacteria making everything easy for you.  You can do a lot of household cleaning in your kitchen using lemon extract.  You can start with your cooking utensils and equipment.

Cheese graters - are hard to handle.  They can cause you some bruises if you’re not careful enough especially those stainless ones.  To avoid hurting yourself, just cut a lemon in halves and rub half of it on your cheese grater.  Soak it warm water with soap and rinse well.

Cutting Boards – To clean your cutting boards, sprinkle it with coarse salt and then, rub half of lemon over it.  This will remove grease and slimy materials from the surface as well as bad odors.  You can also apply this for wooden salad bowls and rolling pins.

Toilet Bowl Cleanser – You can make your toilet bowl cleaner by mixing 1 part lemon juice to 2 parts of borax.  Apply this solution and leave it for an about 2 hours before rinsing.

Microwave – After using your microwave, heat a bowl of water with lemon juice and lemon slices for three minutes.  This will wipe off remaining crumbs or burnt pieces of food inside.

Windows – For a phenomenal window cleaner, try mixing cornstarch, water and vinegar with lemon juice.  It will surely cut through grease and grime on windows and glass.

Stubborn Water Stains – Cut a lemon and rub a slice of it on your faucets and shower fixtures.  This will remove any hard water stains and makes you fixture shiny.

Coffee Maker – coffee leave stains on your coffee maker.  Try running a cycle of the plain water in it, then add a mixture of juice and water to its water tank.  Let it sit then run the cycle again.  Repeat this process and then try another run of plain water cycle.  Also, don’t forget to wash the coffee pot and filter afterward to remove the taste of lemon.

Hardwood flooring – Clean your floors with a mixture of lemon and vinegar.  This is a great grime-fighting non-toxic floor cleaner.
