Chapter 1
BROCK FOXX CLOSED THE door to his study then leaned against it, burying his face in his palms. His agent, Ben, was on his case to get the rumors taken care of, but Brock wasn’t even sure how or if the rumors could be forgotten. Taking a deep breath he went over to his computer and turned it on. A lump formed in his throat as he typed his name into the search engine and the headlines were displayed, page after page.
Brock Foxx hit his co-star Sylvia Dawn when arguing.

Is the star of ‘Kiss me in The Rain’ an abuser?
This was bad. He’d built his career up and before this mess, he had jobs coming in daily, having to reject many of them and only taking the ones that would further his status. His agent said almost all scripts had been pulled, minus one that he’d had to really work a deal for him to keep. Somehow he had to save this, but he was clueless. How to change everyone’s thoughts when that evil woman was confirming something that never happened?
On set, he and Sylvia hadn’t gotten along, but they had to appear as though they liked one another in front of the cameras, which quickly had them on all the major magazines as a couple. She was not his type. In fact, she was the furthest from his type. The woman was the biggest diva he’d ever met. One of those actresses who demanded a bag of M&M’s then asked her assistant to pick out all the red ones. Now with the movie finished being filmed and him telling her he didn’t want to see her again until the night the movie debuted, of course had been caught on someone’s cell phone and put on YouTube. In which, his horrible co-star decided to really crank up the rumors.
At first, Sylvia simply played the part of a heart broken woman but when that didn’t get her enough attention, out of nowhere, she claimed he’d hit her several times. Once she got those rumors started, she was the center of everyone’s attention and she loved it.
There was no fixing this. His career was doomed. He was the talk on every entertainment show, and everyone wanted to interview Sylvia, not him. They weren’t interested in anything, he the abuser, had to say. His agent had tried to get him on a show to tell his side, but it wasn’t juicy enough. Darn Sylvia was milking it. She played the victim well.
His office door opened and in walked a woman who almost stole his breath in a pair of barely there jean shorts and a tight tank top.
Who is this woman?
The beauty stopped in her tracks, green eyes open wide. Oh my gosh, Mr. Foxx, I had no idea you were in here. I’m so sorry.
She turned quick to leave.
Wait,
he called as his eyes locked on her backside before she spun back toward him.
The woman was gorgeous with her thick thighs, large breasts, emerald green eyes, and olive toned skin. She held a dust rag in her small hand and it dawned on him that this must be Penny Watson, the housekeeper he’d hired a year ago from a phone interview, but he’d never seen her. Usually when he was home, she stayed to herself, but he wasn’t here often. He kept her around because whenever he was home, his place was spotless. If only he’d known she’d been this pretty.
I need to head into the gym...Penny? Right?
She nodded and he tried not to stare at her breasts in the tight shirt. You can stay and do your thing.
He got up from his chair, roughly closing the lid to his laptop.
Are you sure, sir?
He came around his desk and toward her. It’s Brock, my father is a sir.
Okay.
Her honey colored hair was tied in a long braid over her shoulder. Her scent was strong, almost like fresh vanilla ice cream. Does she taste sweet?
My apologies, I left a few rings on my desk from my coffee earlier.
It’s no problem. How long will you be home?
I wish I could answer that, it’ll be quite some time as I work out a few things.
She smiled. Welcome home, I’ll do my best to stay out of your way.
Don’t worry about being in my way. This house is large. I’m surprised we are just now crossing paths.
He brushed past her and headed toward the steps that led down to the basement where he had his home gym. He’d barely been home the past year, but if he’d known Penny was that gorgeous, he’d have made a point to come home more, just to catch a glimpse of her.
PENNY STRAIGHTENED up Brock’s office before giving everything a quick wipe down. His place was never dirty. Each day, she came through the immaculate home that was always empty and dusted, swept, and tidied. Most of the time, it was only her in the home, as she lived in the pool house on the property. When Brock was staying there, a cook usually joined her in the other guest room in her building. Except for this time, Gabriella had yet to arrive. Perhaps that meant he hadn’t planned on being home. Typically she got an email from his assistant when he’d be there. It was always condescending, as though she sat on her butt all day and didn’t do her job. Hopefully Brock saw from his impromptu visit home, that it always looked immaculate.
Though, she did sit a lot and watch TV. There was only so much to clean in a home that no one used. She’d have to find out how long he’d be back. Maybe he’d be a messy slob and give her something to do for the time being.
She closed his office door then went down to the basement to put her supplies away and switch the load of laundry. She needed to get her clothes finished in the event he needed
