Piggy Front Man
It was a grey morning and Jessie woke up staring at the foam tiles on her ceiling. She was never one to rush out of bed in the morning and always liked to lay and ponder over her life. She lived in a one bedroom apartment that was located in the downtown Milford Mill area of Maryland. She never really chose to live there in the first place but that she didn't mind. She didn't mind having to wake up to a menial job she also never intended to take, but did out of a state of realization of adolescent responsibility. Nor did she mind the cat scraping at her door every morning as she tried to do her best thinking. Cute little bastard would leave scratch marks all over the base of the door that she was sure she would have to pay for one day. But no she didn't mind that, what she did mind was her journey to the menial job. What she did mind was the cat callers at the construction site she passed everyday on her way to work. This group of neanderthals led in choir by a piggy frontman, really made her feel like some fragile porcelain doll being tossed around in A BLOODY MEAT MARKET FOR WORK TIME LEISURE! But alas the public bus she took happened to be on the very same street as their site, so on she walked along this daunting route to work.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of James making his second attempt to gain her affections by scraping the paint off her bedroom door. Ugg Monday
she thought. Then she went over her weekly routine in her head. Get out of bed, take a shower brush her teeth. Make her lunch; Cold bologna with extra sharp cheddar and 1 thin line of mustard for that extra kick of life she needed in her 12 pm meal. She did her hair and got dressed and made her coffee. And Mmmm coffee
The idea enticed her enough to get out of bed. She sat up and stared at her clock for a few moments before making her way to her bedroom window. As she looked out she could see that the sky looked as if the clouds were ready to burst open with rain again and she made a note to grab her umbrella. And as she looked at the streets below she could see that the city had already begun the hum and bustle of the day. A usual for the city of Milford Mill and she would soon join in with them. As her eyes drifted further to her window sill, she dragged a finger across the light dust pileup and laughed at a memory from her childhood of her father appointing her to clean the dust bunnies from under the family couch. Then she wiped the dust bunny fragments off onto her leg and walked back over to her bed. She pulled the sheets straight and plucked one corer to the far edge of the bed and fluffed her pillows. Neat and half open. Just like her father used to teach her when she was younger. He always left the sheet half open so she could easily hop into bed at the end of each day. Then she headed to her bathroom to begin her daily routine.
After she was all dressed she headed to the kitchen to put her large aluminum espresso maker on the stove to brew her usual morning cup of joe. She used 3 scoops of the generic brand of coffee that she purchased from the supermarket that was always on sale. Then she made her way over to the barely holding together cabinet doors to grab the biggest coffee cup she owned. A large green bowl mug with blood red polka dots. She put it down on her wire frame table that was across from the stove and bent down to scratch behind the ear of James who had begun to rub on her leg. She then took a seat and while she waited she tapped at the ever present sounds of the 70’s forever paying in her mind. When the coffee was ready she poured her cup and inhaled at the intoxicating scent of the robust beans. Then she took her first sip. ..Delicious
. She enjoyed every ounce of the dark brew and was just down to her last when she jumped up. Am I late for work?!
She grabbed her purse and ran out the door forgetting her umbrella for the second time that week.
As she quickly walked down the street she passed Frank the homeless guy. He was holding his typical sign that read ‘Will work for booze’, what an honest shame. Hey Frank
she said, but he didnt utter a word. He never did but she continued acknowledging him as he continued to stare up at the sky and ignore her. Then she kept on walking and saw the familiar cold raw metal frame piercing the sky and had a thought, Maybe I’ll cross the street this time, and that way they wouldnt catch her scent and maybe they wouldnt even notice her if she.. HOLAAAA, chica! Tu quiera mi huevas, que el buen gusto.
Fuck! Too late, just keep going. The construction worker laughed and slapped his buddy on the back, then continued. O le puedo tu poner en mi boca.
Then Jessie watched him turn to the delighted eyes of his construction worker buddies and laughed while saying Estupida Elle. No comprende
Like she didn't understand that part, Stupid girl doesnt comprehend. Yo quiera tu bebe todos pengas
. They lost her again but she could see from the choir of laughter that she was being humiliated. She continued to walk away. But she could feel that she was hurt by what was said even though she didnt fully understand. She thought for a second in the beginning that just maybe they were at least complimenting her in some way but when she heard ‘Estupida’ She knew things had gone south. Jessie didnt know what to think other than maybe it was because she didnt smile and make flirty eyes with them that made the banter turn sour. What made them change from wide grins to mocking laughter. She thought about this as she made
