anzki felt old as she watched carefree children play in the snow. She wished she’d had that innocence. The bus she was on, a glorified boat that glided across the snow-covered ground faster than a horse could gallop, sped toward the mountains that separated their kingdom from the Fihnark Kingdom. She leaned against Trinqki as the bus jostled the graduating class of 1367. Her eighteenth birthday had only been two weeks ago. Izowki, her mother, had left to fight in the Fwar the same day, finally free from her lawful obligation to look over Sanzki.
Sanzki was glad to be free, but at the same time she was angry that her mother left as soon as she could. Was Sanzki that terrible to be around?
