About this ebook

Story number 2 in the series and still based in Christianity; let this chapter book for ages 8-15 continue in teaching in the purist way possible the many vital facts your kids need to know, as they grow and begin puberty. Although second in the series, this book can also stand alone. Even though a book shouldn't completely replace the parent/child conversations, it certainly offers a great deal of assistance and a ton of entertainment at the same time! Big sister Hailey is now married and expecting her first child and Katie is in the fifth grade and has plenty of new questions about growing up and pregnancy. I first felt drawn to write children's books at the age of seventeen. I loved English class all through school, even the homework, and enjoyed getting good grades. In high school; I especially enjoyed the assignment: "Make your own picture book."Later, as a young mother of three, my own children became a source of great inspiration. Over the years, after writes, rewrites, multiple polishings, and a tall stack of rejection letters, with my children fully grown; I'm finally able to refer to myself as an author!I have quite an extensive portfolio at this point which includes: over twenty children's stories, spanning all the age ranges, romantic and Christian poetry, short stories for ages sixteen to adult and non-fiction articles, mainly Christian.

    DEDICATION PAGE

This story, just like The Story of Marriage, is dedicated to Brianna and my own loving family.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that The Truth About Babies will be helpful in guiding pubescent kids, as well as their parents through this confusing time.

    Thanks to Brianna

    FORWORD

Although, The Truth about Babies was written in a part two-type fashion, it can be read as a stand alone book. (The first book is entitled: The Story of Marriage).

This story’s main goal is to help prepare kids for the challenges they will face, as well as provide them with the healthiest Christian views on human sexuality as possible.

It will certainly be an answer to my prayers if this story will help even one child view their sexuality the way their Father in heaven would have them view it. I also hope to dispel the rumors that can sometimes surround this complex issue, making all things sexual less confusing and mysterious.

I pray for God’s blessing on every young person who reads......

    CHAPTER 1 – HAILEY HAS A SECRET

It was early Sunday morning, almost the last day of summer vacation and Katie was already in front of the big screen living room TV. Suddenly her attention was turned to her father. 'He’s so hunched over; he looks like a hairy-faced monster coming down the stairs and the moaning and the groaning is scary too,' she thought.

Why is my princess up so early? he asked once he straightened up. It only takes you a few minutes to get ready for church.

Because school starts the day after tomorrow and Mom says I have to be in bed early and up early so I get a good night’s sleep and have enough time to get ready for the school bus.

Oh….Yeah…good idea……Hey do you know if Hailey and Brian are coming to church with us? her father asked, even though Hailey and Brian never missed a Sunday in church.

Sure…..they always do, Katie answered. Then she watched her father scratch his right side, hunched over to his left, as he moaned loudly back up the long staircase. 'Poor Daddy.......he’s even more hunched over in the mornings now that he’s a retired architect. I wish there was something I could do to make him feel better,' she thought.

Are Hailey and Brian coming over to go to church with us? Mr. Williams asked his wife; nearly bumping into her at the top of the stairs.

Of course they are and I’m sure they’ll be right on time as usual….Hey why don’t you go back to bed. You still have plenty of time, she replied; secretly hoping for a little time to herself.

Okay, but I don’t know how they get along without Hailey down at that store of hers, Mr. Williams commented, as he lay back on the bed.

"Oh Ken really! It’s not her store and they have someone else to run things on Sundays. Anyway it’s been that way since she and Brian got married," Mrs. Williams replied; fiddling with her hair in the mirror.

"I know…..I guess I’m having trouble adjusting to all the changes around here lately."

Yes I know dear. Things really have changed. But we’re all together every Sunday and that will help us remain close, and Katie’s still with us and will be for a long time yet, Mrs. Williams replied; reassuringly.

I know you’re right, but I still can’t get used to Hailey not needing us anymore.

I know what you mean, but su-ooon we’ll be grandparents and every girl needs her parents when she has her first baby, Mrs. William replied, with a gleam in her eyes and a song in her voice.

"Yeah…..you mean every girl needs her mother when she has her first baby," Mr. Williams mumbled, as he rolled over on his side.

Wow you really sound distressed. Come here, Mrs. Williams said.

Then they sat close together on the bed and put their heads close together and held hands. Just then,
