About this ebook

ONCE UPON A TIME…

LADY CATHERINE, a medieval noblewoman has it all: Beauty, wealth, and a handsome, valiant knight whose love for her knows no bounds. Though secretly holding out for a love that would consume her, she acquiesces her fate to wed this knight, a man she loves no more than she could a brother. But a chance meeting with a devastatingly handsome merchant shakes the very foundation of her world, compelling her to act and think in ways she never thought possible.

LOVE CAME BACK TO HAUNT HER…

ERYN REXFORD, a modern-day photographer, has everything many women dream of: Beauty, wealth, a sexy and successful husband, a career she loves, and a beautiful house nestled in a community of beach homes. But passionate love, the one thing she longs for, she learns to live without, until recurring dreams and visions spark memories of a life lived long ago and of a man whose love promises to follow her through time. Eryn recognizes a whisper of that promise in the eyes of a handsome stranger who stays close enough for her to notice, but not close enough for her to remember.

LOVE HAS NO BOUNDARIES…

Two women, born centuries apart, both accept lives of obligation and responsibility; lives without passion, with men who would claim them for their own. Until, that is, a chain of events complicates things in ways they never imagined, all because of one man’s love for a woman…a love that crosses through centuries to find her again.

I won a copy of Again from LibraryThing’s Early Reviewer group. I feel lucky to have won this b/c it was a great read. This is a romance set in two periods of time and the story goes back and forth between the historical portion of the story and the modern story. The author developed the main character very well in both the historical story and the modern story. She (in both settings) is likeable and complex. There is a reincarnation theme running through this story – will the couple get another chance together? Will the heroine make the same mistakes again? Are people drawn to each other over and over again throughout time? I also enjoyed seeing the modern marriage of the heroine – her marriage is falling apart, she is not happy but neither her or her husband wants it to end. The dynamics are interesting to read. Additionally, there is a destructive friendship that the heroine (in the modern day portion of the story) has to work her way through – very interesting stuff. I would recommend this story for readers who enjoy modern day fiction with a dash of something added to it. It was an enjoyable and quick read but surprisingly made me think about what if and possibilities of change across time and lifetimes.

First, I want to thank LibraryThing and Diana Murdock for the opportunity to read Again by Diana Murdock. This short novel by Diana Murdock is based on two main characters in different time eras. Both of the main characters have men in their lives that are possessive and the women are looking for passionate romance; the knight on a white horse type of man. The story is about a woman's feelings for real love. The men in the novel are all physically fit and are described as such. Eryn is the modern character and is a successful photographer; she is married to Bryce. Lady Catherine is the medieval noblewoman and it is assumed she will be married to Galen, someone she has known since childhood. Eryn has recurring dreams that bring her back to the time of 1501, the time of Catherine. The chapters switch back and forth between the two women. Both of the main characters have similar happenings in their lives. The book is somewhat based on reincarnation. A book called Twin Souls- Life Beyond Life and a necklace sent to Eryn by her brother are some mentions of the view of reincarnation. I liked the short novel but would have liked more substance in the writings. I received this complimentary ebook to read and review from LibraryThing. The opinions are my own.Leona Olson

When I first read the description of this book, I was under the impression that it was going to be a fantasy/romance along the lines of Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” series which I loved. However, the fantasy aspect wasn’t really as strong as I had hoped. I had a really difficult time relating to and empathizing with the characters because they were not fleshed out very well and seemed somewhat flat. Because of this, I really didn’t care what happened to Catherine or Eryn.“Again” is a valiant effort, but I needed more. I am giving the book a 2 star rating, but I would like to see more from this writer. I think she has some great plot ideas, but just needs a little more polishing.

I was probably the wrong person to review this novel because I hate romances. This novel was something I wouldn't recommend. I found the first chapter to be unbearable! It had way too much detail about every little thing, very little dialogue, and at times I just wanted the author to get to the point already. She went on and on in details about everything. I would get lost in the details and forget what the characters were even talking about. It had many sexual scenes, which I don't really like; one in particular was way too long.It also had many grammar errors and misspellings, which is a pet peeve. The story was actually good. I enjoyed the twists and the double story-line going on. The whole reincarnation thing gave you something to ponder on. I couldn't recommend it to someone else though. Sorry, just not my cup of tea.

This book is an ideal representation of the modern romance, and the struggle between marriage and passion. As a woman of two worlds, Eryn also as Catherine struggles to decide between the man she believes she has to marry and the passion she wants to feel. This book could use some more polishing, the descriptions did not flow as well as they should and many of the events in both worlds were very similar. I was not expecting the emotional rollercoaster ride of a redemptive tragic romance; I usually like humor in the romance I read, so I gave it a three instead of a four. This book is worth reading, though I do not agree with the reincarnation, it brought up the very real issues of relationships of today and “living for yourself” as well as others.
