    ~About the Author

    Kilted

Lyla stood close to the brightly colored food tents as people swirled around her. The walkways were packed. Smoke from grilled steak mingled with the scent of beer.

She looked around, trying to find her worthless brother. Who’d borrowed her car. And now had her car keys.

He was somewhere near the barns and the arena, he’d said in the text.

    Where the hell was that?

This place was insane. The Annual Celtic Celebration. A grab bag week of games, music, costumes, food and crafts. A burly man brushed past her wearing a red muscle shirt, kilt and sandals. Nice legs.

Stop that. Focus. Find your brother and stop looking at all the sexy guys.

A woman in a long green velvet gown passed her. She must be steaming in the blazing sun.

Lyla felt hot just wearing a blue sundress, her small purse clipped to the belt and sandals. Her long hair draped down her back. She should’ve put it up out of the way. Her neck was damp with sweat. But she hadn’t brought anything to pin it up with.

Wasn’t staying. She needed to go meet her friends.
