My most important love is story telling of fictional tales, far away places, memorable characters, great beginnings and surprise endings. I can author work across many genres comfortably. If I can connect with you my reader, then I did my job and we are hopefully, both happy.II don't try to author woke, politically correct content, but rather entertainment value work. I like to think of my stories as having a 'Movie in your mind' and if I connect with a reader that way, I have done my job. From my "Sheriff Wyler Scott" franchise to the "CalHouse" Technological terror tales of the 21st century, to a diabolical Veep at Weasle Mortgage and Loa in "$$$Amount Due$$$" to a dying man kidnapped in place of a woman by grey aliens on a disc in "Captura" ... I like my readers to be able to visit all types of places. Even in time, take "Skyway Arizona" where a 747 makes an emergency landing in the year 1885. Or a future detective "Turbadia" a detective from hell for the bad guys who seems unstoppable, to a religious scifi confrontation in the future "Thunder Dead" God versus the Devil and grey alien. It is that imagination, the travels with the characters, the places they have been, a hopeless situation turned around, this is what is important, an escape from the real world for several hours to go on those adventures and meet new characters. That is my world and I hope it 'Rocks your mind' for several hours. Humbly yours, American Author, Poet, Filmwriter and Songwriter, "Mark Paul" Sebar.

Before you consider reading this story. It is number seven in the Sheriff Wyler Scott Series. There are character tie-ins from previous Wyler Scott stories that if you have not read them already, will make a great deal more sense. This story ties in with the first Wyler Scott novel Contact of the Forestry Kin
the second novel Idyllwild
the third novel The Trail To East Mohave
the fourth novel Broken Canyon
as each previous story pulls in characters that are in this novel. Likewise, this story has a very close tie-in with Wyler Scott # 5 The Chocolate Mountain Murders
and Wyler Scott Novel # 6Tahquitz
so for a better experience, if you have not already read the older titles, please read the previous Wyler Scott novels first. Thanks!

Chapter 01
Two suns, one slightly larger than the other. Below it, an arid world and behind that, a moon half its size. Suddenly a satellite flew by. It resembled a large glowing diamond shaped object that appeared made of crystalline. It slowly glided through its low orbit above the planet, fixated in a spot where it always remained in the same space.
You know,
Shirley lay in bed next to Mike. I love these quiet times.
Yeah, yeah,
Mike replied. Tomorrow…I’m fucked!
I love you like this, you are such a winnah, You’re such a sultry man.
Mike’s head rolled on the soft pillow to his right to glimpse her face in the dark. Ya really think so?
he asked in earnest. She made him feel like a lucky big shot for that very moment and she paused in her reply. Then her expression changed to one of disgust.
No, yer a fucking losah. First, you got yourself kicked out of the NYPD, then ya got yourself accused of a brutal assault with a knife which you are going to court for. And on top of that, what girl would want to marry a man like you?
A smart girl, that’s who,
he smiled.
Wyler sat back in his chair and Ileen stood behind him, placing her hands on his shoulders while the flames in the fireplace crackled and danced. There had been a lot of pressure riding on the sheriff’s shoulders and the wear was beginning to show itself.
Well, tomorrow it all begins,
Wyler informed her as he turned the page of the newspaper. His eyes scanned the headlines of the day. Says in the newspaper they are gonna have a Mars Rover. Thought we had photos of Mars surface way back in 1976.
There must be some difference,
Ileen shrugged. So why are you not rescuing your niece?
She’s been there only an hour or so. Time is on our side in getting this together. But I do dread what’s there,
Wyler sighed as he turned the next page of the newspaper. Ostrich like creatures that kill, rabbits that have saber teeth and hunt in packs, meteor showers and now someone from the past…and who knows what else?
He glanced at her as she walked around his chair to face him. Nope, I need you here.
There must be something I can…
she started to reply and the frustration in her face worried him so.
Wyler took a deep breath and stood up out of the armchair. They were face-to-face. Take care of everything here.
Till you get back?
her tone said it all.
Yep, till I get back,
he kissed her gently on the lips and for the moment they were staring each other in the eye.
Mohany finished chanting outside the porch at his Idyllwild cabin. He entered and turned the lights down low. Honey,
Sky called to Mohany.
Yeah,
Mohany called out. I’ll be there in a few minutes. It has been a long day and I am tired. I think Tahquitz fixed it all, at least,
Mohany rolled his eyes, then stared out the window at Tahquitz Rock, I hope he did,
and a meteor shot overhead. Yeah, there goes Dakush,
he mumbled to himself, wishing he did not have to get shuteye. Something had so horrified him the past evenings, he dreaded going to sleep and his tired face reflected this. He had kept it his secret, but for how long could he really hide it from others?
John Scott turned to his wife Anne. I’m going and that’s that. She’s my daughter and whether my brother likes it or not, I’m going to be there with him.
Well if you are going, I am coming along,
Anne insisted and she walked in front of him. Our daughter,
she reminded him in a stern tone of displeasure and distrust, mixed with pure frustration.
The twin suns were high in the desert sky and the mountains were near. Faster,
Seth called to them and he approached Felecia. He had the sniffles, and so he wiped his nose a moment.
It caught Clarence eye and he took pause, turning around, and they stopped as he watched Seth. Then he broke a grin and watched Seth harassing Felecia. Kid takes after his old man,
Clarence grin deepened. That’s enough harassment,
Clarence called to Seth in front of all them all.
But pa,
Seth started to reply and Clarence walked to him.
Don’t challenge me boy,
his grin disappeared as he stood facing his son Seth Culligan. It was obvious, the bad blood that they held way back between this father and son, was just as strong and rife for a tangle as it had ever been. He turned from him toward the others who all stood watching. Then he turned back to Seth. Get up at the lead, and make sure the water is still good. Have one of the Ahgundy hover over and take a sip. If he wobbles a moment from his high, then we know it is still good.
Another moment passed and then Seth left for the lead. Clarence turned to Felecia. You know my uncle is coming for me, he will rescue me,
she blurted in a hostile tone.
Sure he will,
Clarence stayed cool and calm. I’m counting on it,
he broke a snicker.
He was standing on a desert plane on Earth, the afternoon breeze at his face. It was a day of blue skies, a rather calm day of normality that lay before him. He watched the landscape when suddenly there was a weird noise from the sky, like an Earthquake, only much more violent than any he had ever experienced in California. He glanced up at the sun and it had changed to a reddish color as it was rapidly expanding in space. Oh my God,
Mohany exclaimed to himself and that growing red star began to change the sky pink and then soon it was a red sky. A puddle of water began boiling and his flesh was burning off of his skin, his eyes melting. The red plasma was across the landscape coming in a roar at his skeleton faster than he imagined. Suddenly, it was flames everywhere and then a giant explosion and disintegration of everything about him. Everything was now quieting down, surrounded by a giant gaseous red cloud of plasma.
Mohany shot up in bed, while Sky Patterson Rodriguez lay there next to him, a cold sweat running down his face. He had that same vision again.
It was early morning and Mohany‘s eyes were open in the darkness as Sky slept next to him in bed. He quietly got up out of bed and put on a shirt in the dark, then exited the loft to the stairs below in his Idyllwild cabin. He could sense things again, at least partially and he stepped out onto the front porch in the darkness. The surrounding mountain woods on this stretch of land were peaceful and he could hear the sounds of crickets chirping, calling for a mate. He glanced east at the outline of Tahquitz Rock etched against the starlit sky of this early morning. Mohany sensed things were just beginning all over again, and it might be life ending for the sheriff this time around.
If only, if only,
he mumbled to himself and Sky stepped up quietly behind him, his eyes detecting her appearance.
Honey,
she called gently putting her hands on his shoulders and turning him around as a lone coyote howled at the early moon.
Yeah, a new day starting and it extends from the entire mess.
He replied.
She embraced him gently, a bit of a smile upon her face. You need rest and so do I, besides,
she sighed pulling him closer. Your sheriff seems to know what he’s doing.
Does he?
Mohany shot back. So far, his hide has been saved on more than one occasion and then there is him,
Mohany pointed at the dark hulking Tahquitz Rock. I have a feeling there are things that aren’t finished yet.
And that my love, is why you need your winks and I require my beauty sleep,
she reminded him as the both of them turned and went back inside the two-story cabin, the front door closing.
The alarm went off and Mike sat up in a stupor. Ugg, morning breath,
Shirley rolled over in the bed.
That’s easy for you to say,
he commented as he got up and walked to the bathroom. I have to brush my teeth and gargle.
Ileen wrapped her arms around Wyler. She knew he was putting his posse together and she realized why. However, she was in complete disagreement within her soul. Many a time, she worried of losing the man of her life and this one was about the worst she could imagine. They stared eye-to-eye and then embraced passionately.
The crack of dawn stretched a new day over the Colorado Desert of Southern California, and it highlighted a bunch of distant clouds as Wyler drove away. Ileen watched helplessly and as Wyler drove off, his brother a Mister John Scott skidded to a halt in a pickup. He opened the door and got out. Oh my,
she exclaimed in a bit of disbelief.
Drove most of the night. Where’s my brother? What’s this about another world?
he demanded.
Mike was across the street in Hemet from the Sheriff’s station. He was in a local donut shop when Sheriff Wyler Scott stepped up next to him at the counter. He could see Mike was half-asleep, as the former Bronx Policeman sipped the hot coffee. Big day,
Wyler mused.
I’m you know what!
Mike replied.
Maybe not,
Wyler turned to him as he fumbled for his money. You have a date in court, but if what you swore out is true on your report and I believe it is, justice will—
Wyler rolled his eyes, prevail.
The donut shop clerk, a young Mexican kid smiled. How much?
Mike asked him.
For you,
the clerk replied. Is free,
Mike snickered at Wyler. Cause you the stiletto,
the clerk added.
Oh fuck,
Mike almost swallowed his coffee wrong. I can’t go anywhere.
Wyler shrugged his shoulders, took the box of donuts. Oh, uh stiletto, take a stab at the department in about ten minutes.
Very funny sheriff, ha, ha,
Mike grimaced. Hey,
Mike called out to Wyler, who turned at the door with the big box of donuts. Who are those for?
All of you guys,
Wyler smiled, turned and walked across the street.
He really stuck it to you,
the clerk teased.
Yeah, yeah, fucking funny,
Mike waived and then left. Anotha fucking comedienne.
Wyler entered the break room and set the box of donuts down, and then he went to his office and no sooner did he enter, when waiting in his chair, as it slowly turned around was District Attorney Tom Ambrough. Morning Wyler,
he smiled as he got up out of the sheriff’s seat and walked around the table.
Fresh donuts in the break room,
Wyler motioned.
"Oh no, I had breakfast already. I am waiting on our police friend and his big day
