Excerpt from Teacher’s Pet:

“Can we take a break?” I asked, rubbing my temples to try and sooth the throbbing in my head.

A corner smile appeared on the professor’s lips. He thought he had won, he thought he had convinced me I was a worthless, ignorant student.

“Or course,” he said. His uncharacteristically civil behavior only confirmed my suspicions.

I tried to come up with a plan, but none came to mind. I didn’t know why Professor Scott was doing this and, until I did, there was nothing I could do about it. I would just have to play along until he revealed his true intentions.

“You know, Miss Swan,” he said casually, “there is an easier way to improve your grades.”

I knew better than to believe him, yet I couldn’t help but perk up at the thought of a simple way to rectify my unsatisfactory grades.

“There is?” I asked, in a voice I prayed was not too hopeful.

“There is.” He stood up and adjusted his bowtie. “In fact, I can offer you a way to ensure you get straight A’s for the rest of your college life.” He slowly made his way around the desk as he spoke. By the time the final word left his lips, he was leaning against the front of the desk.

I knew I shouldn’t, but I let excitement get the better of me.

“What is it?” I asked eagerly.

He didn’t answer. At least not with words.

Professor Scott leaned toward me. His hand made contact with my right thigh. I had uncrossed my legs, so he now had full access to my inner thighs. Taking full advantage of it, his fingers crept across my skin, nearing my slit with each passing second. I feared he would not stop, but his fingers froze less than an inch from my panties.

I remained frozen in shock for a moment before peering up at him. I could tell he wanted me even before he kissed me. It was in his eyes. But my worst fears were confirmed when his lips made contact with mine.

I was so stunned I didn’t know how to react. There were so many things wrong with what he had just done I didn’t know where to begin. Not only was he my teacher, but he was also my uncle. We may not have been related by blood, it made his actions no less no less perverse.

We remained frozen in place for what felt like an eternity before I finally snapped back to reality. By then, our lips had parted.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

Professor Scott did not seem impressed by my sudden outburst. He still wore the cocky smirk I had now grown accustomed to.

“I am simply upholding my end of our agreement,” he said...

Prologue

I’m an overachiever. Always have, always will. The only thing I hate more than failing is having others know I did. Appearance is primordial as it is the first thing people see, their first opportunity to judge you. I always look my very best, no matter the circumstances. Some call it an obsession, I call it a way of life.

My beauty often attracts unwanted attention, but my closed-off personality keeps most men at bay. The few boyfriend’s I have had over the years were few and far in between. Some call it a lonely life, I call it an opportunity to surpass myself.

I was the best student in every single one of my classes. Straight A’s across the board. My high school life was filled with jealous classmates and proud teachers. Some called me a teacher’s pet. I agreed, only I wore it as a badge of honor.

I received a full scholarship and was invited to attend the best college in the country. It was located mere hours from my childhood residence. The closeness to my parents helped ease me through the transition, but deep down, I was looking forward to starting my life as an adult.

The plan was simple. I would continue being the best student I possibly could and graduate with a degree in economics. From there, I would start my own business. I did not know what service my company would provide, but it would quench my undying hunger for money while fulfilling my desire to help my fellow man. That was the plan and nothing could stand in my way. Nothing.

As impressive as it was, landing a full scholarship was not my ticket to an easy college life. I still had textbooks and supplies to pay for. My parents were far from wealthy and their two jobs were not enough to pay for my expenses. I got my first summer job working at a veterinary clinic. Mastering the challenges of employment took less than a day, which I’m told was some sort of record.

It was a calm summer. The biggest thing to happen was my eighteenth birthday. Some claim their lives changed just because they were a day older, but I saw no change. I was still an overachiever and nothing would ever change that.

The summer eventually pulled to an end and my parents insisted on driving me to campus. Being a scholarship student had its advantages; I was awarded the last single room in the dormitory. When it came time to leave, my mother started to cry. My father managed to drag her away before she could freak out and forbid me to attend college.

Once they were gone, I got settled in. Once every single one of my possessions had been given a new home, I took a tour
