Throwing my keys on the counter, I settled into my favorite chair and turned on the computer. The 'New Mail' sign flashed across my screen, sending a twinge of excitement to my heart when I saw Jeff’s name. For the past year, I had been writing to him. We lived thousands of miles apart, but yet he filled my thoughts, constantly.

Sometimes he sent me words of encouragement, other times, reader feedback. My writing being the reason he contacted me in the first place. He happened to be one of the select few that could actually read between the lines in my stories. He seemed to know how I felt at the moment that I typed each word.

On that day, his email made me smile,

I wish I had the talent to write romance stories. It's like playing an instrument. I have the notes but lack the flare.
