About this ebook

Bette had Devlin, an incredibly sexy boyfriend of two years, a wonderful house, and a future all planned out for the two of them. Then she picked up his phone and saw naked photos and texts from the other woman.

Tomas was just supposed to be her charming local coffee house barista, not the suddenly gorgeous man who sweeps her off her feet. He's been waiting for a long time for his chance and wants to keep her screaming his name in bed from dawn to dusk. Yeah, Tomas has some plans for Bette. And he has a lot of secrets.

    Chapter One

What guy would turn down a blow job from his girlfriend? Turn it down with a laugh, give her a peck on the lips, and roll over. My long-time boyfriend Devlin did just that. Left me staring at his back, speechless, mouth hanging open. His beautifully muscular back, bared down to his waist, was tan and contrasted with the cobalt blue sheets of his bed. Dark blond hair, loose from his usual tieback, gleamed in the light on my side of the bed. I touched it with my fingertips and felt the softness. I snuggled close, wrapped my arms around his waist, and inhaled the scent of his bodywash and shampoo.

He lifted his head from the pillow and turned his head slightly. I’m exhausted, Bette. He gave me another peck on the lips and shallowly sighed as he laid his head back down.

I slowly pulled my arm away from him and looked up at the ceiling. Since when does my very amorous boyfriend turn down oral sex? If he had his way, I’d be on my knees at least once a day. But now? I could tell he was pretending sleep by his breathing, but he’d made it clear our evening was over. I was frustrated as hell and thought about just taking care of myself right then, just to see how he’d react. But no, in this strange frame of mind he was in, he might just ignore that too.

I turned on my e-reader and read for a while, then gave up to a night of feeling sexually frustrated and confused. He’d not been the same since he’d come back from a sailing trip with friends, one that I hadn’t been able to afford. In the morning, he’d have to talk to me.

It was daylight when Sophie, his golden retriever, scratched at the bedroom door for her morning bathroom break. Dev slipped out of bed and let her out, then I heard water running in his bathroom.

He padded back into the bedroom, still naked, no morning wood, and gave me another slight kiss before laying back down. We’d always made love on Sunday mornings, taking our time until starvation and the need for good caffeine drove us out of bed.

Dev? I studied him as he settled into the sheets, pulling them around his body and curving an arm over his head.

Still tired, Bette. I’ll get up in a little while. He pretended to sleep again as if he’d not slept for days. As if we’d not had sex in over a week. As if we were fifty instead of barely thirty years old.

I got out of bed, slipped on some clothes, and looked back once to see if he was watching. Nothing. I grabbed my e-reader and padded down the hallway
