- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed how this book gave personality and human expressions to common punctuation marks used in writing. This approach encourages the student to learn with feeling, not just simple memorization. I believe that evoking an emotion while learning new material aids in memory and retention of that material. For this reason, I recommend this Basher book for early students learning the basics of punctuation.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book, through the use of whimsical cartoons and easily comprehended language, teaches the ins and outs of punctuation. This book would be an effective tool when teaching a preliminary course on grammar, or would assist an instructor in a middle or high school level if they have students who are struggling with punctuation, Easily accessible and informative, this book, and the other books in the Basher Book series, are tools that I would use when tutoring my middle school students, and those struggling with grammar when I begin teaching high school.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a great book that can help children understand punctuation. The illustrations in the book are great because they give the children visual ideas of what the book is talking about. For example, double quotes are explained and the picture is of two purple people with quotations by their mouths as smirks.
