Dear FYSA,
Someone in my writing group has had three rather successful books published by a major publisher, but then, she had two proposals rejected by her publisher, and her third proposal, her agent rejected, saying it wasn’t at the level needed for submission. She is trying to keep a stiff upper lip, but it got a few of us wondering—how can someone go from having an instinct for writing relatable characters, stakes, and plot to … not? And how can we best support her?
