About this ebook

Accenture doesn't pay its call center workers enough, so unions should intervene. This work discusses the problems of Accenture type leadership as well as advocates for the political and philosophical need for the unionization solution.

Andrew Bushard filed a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) unfair labor charge against his employer Accenture. The NLRB agent "found merit" in his charge, so the NLRB prosecuted Accenture. Accenture capitulated and agreed to a settlement, so Andrew won the case. Victory!

    Introduction

At the risk of over-romanticizing things, I feel very patriotic participating in unions. Unions have improved millions of lives so they deserve our praise and support.

Have you ever joined a union? I have. When I worked for the public schools as a special education paraprofessional, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) represented us.

I have twice tried to unionized non-unionized workplaces. I tried to unionize a small company, Opus 21, back around 2007-2008. I have also been trying to unionize a large company, Accenture, in 2014 and 2015. I don’t have the best personality for this, but I still believe I need to try especially since no one else is doing so. Even when I fail, I still celebrate the fact I have done my part to unionize the world.

I don’t claim to have any special expertise, but I hope my experiences and insights can still inspire you to join this patriotic working class tradition.

Let’s start more unions! Long live unions!

    One:

    Pay it Forward!

Why start a union? Perhaps, we should respond, to pay it forward!

Let me put it this way: ever see those bumper stickers that say The Labor Movement: The Folks Who Brought You the Weekend?

This saying represents more than just a catchy slogan; it makes the most profound statement.

Most people, maybe 90% of the people I know, hate their jobs, so what do they look forward to?:
