Right Reverend John is John Edward LaFave. The "right reverend" part is a tongue-in-cheek pen and stage name John has used at various times to various ends. Though John actually was ordained and served as worship and associate pastor with Harvest House Church in Fenton, Michigan, many, many years ago. He also founded Global Mission Alliance a small third world non-profit that did relief work in several countries in the eighties/early nineties. John has retired from "the ministry" but has a hard time burying this "Right Reverend" dude. John LaFave is a songwriter/artist/ author living in Nashville, Tennessee. Chapter One

Prayer That Availeth Much

There is a prayer whose effect we are told availeth much. This type of prayer when prayed in accordance with the biblical pattern always yields the desired results. It is powerful in effect. It is always answered affirmatively by Our Heavenly Father. It never misses the target at which it is aimed. It never fails to obtain the object of its desire. It availeth much.

This type of prayer will not only receive the object prayed for, but likewise change the person praying. It will stamp eternity upon the consciousness of its bearer. It will electrify each inanimate portion of his life. It will illuminate all darkened corners of his thought. It will transfigure each earthly form of his being. It availeth much.

Hell shakes at the sound of such praying. Devils tremble in fear of those taken by such praying. The deviant schemes of Satan himself are unraveled as a result of this type of prayer. Hell knows its effect.

Historically, this type of praying has always proven itself to be effective. Prior to every forward thrust of glory, somewhere this manner of praying can be found. It has been the predecessor of every open move of God throughout the ages. Awakenings and revivals have been birthed in the womb of such praying. Movements and eras have been planted in the soil of such praying. Kingdoms have been born and have toppled at the hands of such praying. Nations have risen and fallen through the thrust of such praying. The eternal destinies of numerous individuals have been altered through this manner of holy prayer.

Pentecost itself was preceded by this availing prayer. Those early, faithful devotees of the risen Christ displayed the fruit of such praying in their harmonious devotion to Him in prayer. Their cries and pleas were heard, and born witness to in that glorious day by the coming of wind and fire.

This manner of praying in the economy of God is indispensable. It is woven into the very fabric of His kingdom’s working. Through this availing prayer the prophetic Word is realized. By this availing prayer His holy promises are prevailed upon. In this availing prayer men and women of stature are made perfect. With this availing prayer demon forces are bound.

Nothing can take the place of this manner of availing prayer. Effort strains thin when not fueled by this
