One of the great tragedies of our time is that we have the tools and technologies available to us to free up our time and open up our lives to learning, creating, relaxing, and building.     Introduction

    One of the great tragedies of our time is that, more than any generation before us, we have the tools and technologies available to us that can free up our time and open up our lives to learning, creating, relaxing, and building.  And yet...we are so busy, so attached to being busy, that we spend most of our time looking forward, looking back, and missing those things that are right in front of us. 

    We are addicted to being busy.  The busier we are, the less time we spend thinking about whether or not the things we are so busy doing are the things we want to be doing or need to be doing.  The act of doing has become more important that the reason for doing. This has landed many of us in a place where time is our enemy, and the only solution we can see is to try and tame it somehow.  We believe that if we could just bend it to our will, we could defy logic and the law of physics and get everything to fit, no matter how big it is or how little time we have.

    However, what we believe isn’t always what’s true.

    It’s time to stop participating in this insane cycle of cramming every day to overflowing, working ourselves into the ground, and feeling stressed and exhausted all the time.  There is more to life that being busy, and until we stop, breathe, and get our feet firmly planted on the ground, we are not going to be able to see that.

    What Does it Mean to Manage Time?

    Time is one of our most precious resources, and yet many of us treat it as if it is inexhaustible, as if there will always be more seconds and minutes available for us to use.  At the same time, we feel exhausted, stressed, and as if there will never be enough time to get everything we need to do done, let alone find time for the things we want to do.  These two paradoxical attitudes about time help create this something I like
