    Self-analysis through Astrology - Introduction

If you’re intrigued by the workings of the mind, fascinated by psychology and eager to learn more about your relationships and individual motivations, this unique book will help take you on a journey of self-discovery. Based on character traits associated with the astrological Sun Signs, for each sign of the zodiac there is a detailed astro-analysis along with self-help toolboxes to help you gain a greater understanding of yourself.

These exercises will help each Sun Sign map their individual strengths and weaknesses and as you get to know yourself better, you will find it easier to make choices and decisions and have more control over the way you respond to difficult situations.

Look up your Sun Sign and discover the traits that form the roots of your personality. Try the exercises suggested for your zodiac sign but don’t just stop there. Sun Sign astrology reveals the basic characteristics of a person based on the sign the Sun was in when they were born. But everyone’s birth chart has planets in other signs and these too influence personality. Why not read the Signs close to your own to see if you recognise any traits in these that match your own character? Try the self-help toolboxes for these signs.

The idea of this book is to help people look at their personality, to recognise their gifts, celebrate their strengths and forgive themselves for their failures. The idea is to encourage people to love themselves for whom they are, no matter what their Sun Sign.

    ARIES ASTRO ANALYSIS

Aries is the adventurer of the zodiac. They love to strike out on their own or to lead other people into the unknown. New experiences excite and keep the Arian motivated. Arians love their freedom.

Freedom can be a relief for a while but Aries will value their relationships too and they do accept the need to commit to some projects and places if they are to make a difference in these areas. They can’t keep drifting aimlessly forever but they could never settle into a dull, unchallenging, routine existence either. They will do best when having a goal to strive towards.

Arians love to venture into new territories but even the shores of a vast ocean can limit people when there are some areas that would be too dangerous to explore.  Drifting in the vastness of the Pacific Ocean for instance could, once out at sea, provide a lack of choice. Aries would have the illusion of freedom from any kind of binding yet in reality being trapped in a situation that’s going nowhere. As Aries finds the balance between holding a degree of independence while being committed to other people, job, home and family, they will feel more content.

So the choice for many Arians is: freedom or anchor? Such a difficult decision for this adventuresome sign! But the Aries is not doomed to failure or dissatisfaction by remaining in the one place or situation for a long time. They can still find new goals to work towards within the sphere of their interests and commitments.

Working Arians for instance might always have their eye on the next promotion possibility. Mixing socially with colleagues can introduce them to new interests and activities. Many Arians will get actively involved in community activities in their spare-time: being a member of the village hall committee,  a school governor, parish councillor or organising a neighbourhood watch scheme are all perfect for keeping the Aries interested, active, engaged and motivated.

Not all Arians can settle down, however. Because for them the grass is always greener on the other side. And the more they see, the more they want. It isn’t that they aren’t happy or they feel dissatisfied. It’s just that they need to feel they have a goal or more than one goal to work towards. For the restless Arian there are few things more soul-destroying than confinement and stagnancy.

Relationships with an Arian will grow and develop along with the Aries or they will wither on the relationship vine and die. Aries will never look back. Some friends may come and go and some will stick around for a long time but the Arian doesn’t have time to question what went wrong and who did what to whom. If it doesn’t work out, so be it.

Arians can be romantic and when with a compatible mate they will want what’s best for them. They can in fact idolize their partner but they would never be possessive. Far from it - the Aries believes that for a relationship to work they should let love grow unconditionally. Romance should not have restrictions or boundaries. Love should be as free-flowing as the Arian’s life and that’s why romance with an Arian will never stand still. It will always be moving forward or going off in new directions.

What the Aries has to offer a partner is: fun, romance, excitement, the thrill of experimenting with new interests or journeying to new places and adventure. Compatible partners such as Geminis, Sagittarians and Leos will welcome this approach to romance. But there are other signs such as Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo who would find so much movement and unpredictability unnerving. These signs prefer to know where they stand; they like to plan well ahead and have everything organised to the last detail. Aries doesn’t like to spend too much time planning and will often be spontaneous. That’s why their most tense relationships can be with those born under the Earth signs Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo.

How does Aries look at life? Arians are likely to see life as a work in progress. They love to learn through developing their knowledge and experience and will never be without their goals to work towards. If the Arian’s life was a book, the end of one chapter will bring the start of another. And if it ever feels like they’ve exhausted all they can out of one story, they will start a next and even make it a trilogy. – The desire to explore and to experience more than what they already have seems to be a natural by-product of the Aries nature.

Aries will rarely be down for very long. They can be impulsive but they accept too that actions have consequences and if they’ve made the wrong choice then they’ll get it right next time. Aries has a competitive nature. Not only do they enjoy competing but they are in it to win. Always at the front of the queue, Aries will grasp any opportunity that appeals to them even if
