About this ebook
Sometimes the deepest scars are the ones you don't see.
Everyone in Jonesville thought that Bryce Evans had the perfect life in High School: he was the Mayor’s son, the quarterback for the football team, the boyfriend of the head cheerleader and had a 4.1 GPA. His acceptance to Notre Dame came as no surprise but when he chose to enlist in the marines instead everyone was shocked.
Lexi Lord was the quiet girl in school and kept to her small group of eccentric friends. She had no connection to any of the popular kids except for one incident on Prom Night when her path crossed with Bryce’s.
When Bryce enlisted Lexi was the only one that wasn’t disappointed and decided to send him anonymous letters as a way to feel connected to him. She stopped after a year because she felt there was nowhere for their relationship to go.
Fast-forward four years and Bryce is back in Jonesville and once again he and Lexi cross paths. Only he’s no longer the seemingly perfect man and Lexi’s no longer the quiet girl.
This time their relationship is quite different but both of them have secrets from the past and friends that threaten to ruin their chance at happiness together.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Guilt can weigh you down and destroy you. Keeping secrets can become unbearable. Our main characters are masters at both. Books 1 and 2 of this series, will take these characters through the journey of self reliance, truth and finally acknowledgment of true love. Great read. Would recommend this to all.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Cliffhanger ending. I was actually impressed with exactly how useless the characters were. They were completely incompetent and far too self-absorbed to have any sort of relationship.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Horrible story telling and writing. Very flat characters. Everyone was either dumb or unlikeable. And it's obviously being touted as an installment book for extra money. So not worth it.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5so terrible, there is not one decent person in this book, they all are immature jerks who live at home in spite of being adults and this book ends right in the middle of the story and the rest of the story is not on scrib
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I didn’t know what to expect when I started this series, but I had recently read some good reviews of the series as a whole and thought why not try it myself. I am sad to admit that after reading it I kind of wish I hadn’t. Drama is usually essential in a book. Something has to happen for the book to move forward and develop. Drama is good. Hell, sometimes drama is GREAT. But too much of a good thing can ruin a novel and in this case the drama in this series killed. Murdered it with a spoon and then went back repeatedly to make sure the job was done. There were simply too many plot twists that I will not list in case they spoiler anything. Suffice it to say though that there were quite a lot of plot twists and dirty secrets that were coming out throughout this entire series, which brings me to my next point: at less than 300 pages I felt that this duology really didn’t need to be two books. If the author had wished to this could have easily been two books instead of two relatively short novels. Scarred started out okay for me and it wasn’t until about a third of the way into it that I realized I wasn’t really enjoying reading it all that much. The characters just seemed too fake to me. Their problems were real world problems (some of them), but the connection just wasn’t there and I found myself really not caring what happened to Lexi and Bryce as the story wore on. The book also committed my biggest pet peeve which is having a huge cliffhanger ending which forced me to read the second one, because if we’re being honest I wouldn’t have read the second one if it hadn’t. Overall I found the series to be very meh. It was a quick read, but that was mostly because I found myself unable to connect with any of the characters. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends and would instead point them in the direction of some other great New Adult books that have been released lately.
