I love to read, but I live to write. What started out as a way to express my pent up emotions when I was a child, quickly turned into something I couldn't live without. My first real writing was done through poetry. It was short, to the point, and let me talk about whatever happy or depressing thoughts happened to cross my mind. From there I moved on to short stories. In the beginning they weren't very long, had awful grammar, and tended to be very rushed. Once I found fanfiction, that all began to change. I started to really get inside my characters heads, flesh out their worlds, and write out complete thoughts instead of just snippets. It didn't take long for me to start writing my own stories again, and I haven't stopped since. I still tend to stick with short stories (I have a very short attention span), but I no longer feel that's all I can write. I've completed one full length novel and am well on my way to finishing the second.I never stick to just one topic or genre, my mind doesn't work that way, so chances are you'll see a wide variety of stories from me.I hope you enjoy reading my works as much as I enjoyed writing them.

After a failed experiment turned me into a Vampire, I left my hometown of Sedgewood, Ohio and went in search of the Elders, a group of ancient Vampires that supposedly have the ability to communicate telepathically with every other Vampire on the planet, in the Absaroka mountain range.

I wasn’t sure what I was hoping they’d do, but my father needed to be stopped. Not only was he using innocent Mortals for his deranged experiments, but his plan is to turn every single Hunter into some kind of Vampire hybrid that has all their strengths, no blood thirst, and is completely obedient.

I was the first Hunter he tried it on, but something went wrong. Instead of a super soldier, I wound up a full-blooded Vampire. He offered to try and change me back, more to keep me under control than anything else I’m sure, but I know I’ll never be able to be Mortal again.

Do you have any idea what it’s like to suddenly find yourself the very thing you’ve spent your whole life hating? It’s a wonder I haven’t killed myself yet. Except I can’t do that, not until my father has been stopped. If he’s allowed to continue countless other innocents will be lost, and who knows how many Hunters and Slayers he’ll destroy in the process. I don’t want to see any more people die.

Thankfully there’s enough of my Hunter spirit left in me to keep me sane, and I’ve been managing to keep my thirst under control, but I know it’s only a matter of time before I become some mindless, bloodthirsty beast and start attacking Mortals. I just hope there’s a Master around to kill me when that happens, because no one else will be able to stand a chance against me now.

I never realized how intricately connected the Vampires were to each other. I guess it’s something you have to be a part of to understand. They can sense whenever another one is near and often times will search each other out. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been invited in somewhere to get out of the sun, or have a bite to eat, or to simply relax for awhile.

Their hospitality was completely unexpected, but then all my life I’d heard nothing but how evil they were, how they needed to be destroyed before they killed us all, so it’s not like I ever tried to get to know one.

Actually I had known one, for a few days, though technically he was a Halfling not an actual Vampire. I would never have known if Mrs. Clark, my father’s partner in crime, hadn’t told me. Sure he was stronger and faster than me, but I’d assumed that was because he’d trained more, not that he had Vampire blood coursing through his veins.

I don’t know what happened to him, I left without bothering to see if he was even still alive, but something tells me he was and I’ll be seeing him again. Only this time we’ll be on opposite sides.

There’s no time to worry about him right now though, I’ve got a mission to accomplish and the clock is ticking. I’ve been gone for four days now and I’m sure my father has already spread word that I’ve been turned. Knowing him he probably blamed the recent outbreak of Vampires and all the kills in Sedgewood on me as well since it would make it so much easier for him to continue his experiments if everyone believed I was behind it.

I’ve been making pretty good time, I’m already in Wyoming, and if I can manage to catch a ride, I should be able to get to Yellowstone by tonight. From there I’ll have to follow my instincts and hike to where the Elders live. At least that’s what the other Vampires I asked told me to do.

According to them, once I’m within a hundred miles of them I should be able to sense them like I can any other Vampire, only much, much stronger. Sort of like a homing beacon on steroids.

Several of them did warn me that the journey was going to be difficult, something about having to face my demons before being allowed to enter the Elders domain, but no one seemed to be able to elaborate and I got the feeling that it was more of a legend than an actual test.

Pulling the black jacket I’d picked up at a thrift store tighter around my body, I made a mental note to stop and grab some more clothes at the next shop I found. My jeans had several tears from where I’d miscalculated some jumps, and my latest t-shirt, a dark blue thing with a surfing penguin on it, was getting pretty stained. Thankfully my tennis shoes had held up so far; I’m fairly certain I don’t have enough cash left to replace those as well.

I hear you’re on your way to see the Elders, need a lift?

I’d been sitting in this run-down diner for over two hours now without sensing a single Vampire presence; how in the world had this guy managed to sneak up on me? I know I wasn’t that out of it. Turning towards him I eyed him from head to toe, a habit from my days as a Hunter when I’d check to see if a person was a threat. He was by far the oldest Vampire I’d ever seen. Long grey hair pulled back in a ponytail and a short white beard made me think he was in his late sixties, but his dark eyes were young and full of life.

He was dressed in tan cargo pants and a loose fitting, white button up dress shirt, with a long, brown leather jacket and hiking boots. He sort of reminded me of that guy in those treasure hunter movies my mom liked so
