You sure there's anything out here? I can't see a damn thing.

We just follow this road and see where it leads to. If there's a dead end, we turn around. No big deal. Are you afraid or something?

Willis straightened his back and lengthened his stride, aiming his flashlight straight ahead. "No! It's just ... I don't see what the point is coming out here after hearing a stupid rumor. A camp full of hot chicks? Seriously? There's not even a sign by the turnoff on the highway. I bet we're going to find some old coot's shack with signs everywhere that say No Trespassing."

"It's not a rumor, man. It totally exists. It's not a rumor if more than one person says it."

"Uh, yeah, it is," Willis said.

"My friend promised me, like he bet his entire video game collection that this place exists in the woods. Dark, scary mansion type of place. Huge perimeter fence. Overgrown by trees. He said the windows are always lit up and he saw girls out in the courtyard messin' around. Says every one of them had big boobs, short shorts on. All of them looked like they could've been models," Dirk went on.

"Right. He got that close to see all that? Willis asked. Even the big tits and stuff? How did he not get caught? I'd say he's full of shit."

Dirk shrugged. I don't know. I'm just passing along what I heard. He wouldn't lie to me like that. Besides, what's the point? If there really is nothing out here, then we just turn around and go back.

Willis hoped there would be nothing at the end of the dirt road. The night was dark and more than once he had spun around, shooting his flashlight beam off into the woods, thinking he heard the noise of an animal or ... or something not so far away. It was foolish to think so; he'd gone camping in these woods before, and the only thing he saw then was a lonely fawn. The poor thing had gone leaping into the thick woods when they made eye contact. Still, without the sun to guide his way, it was easy to see movement in the shadows.

The dirt road went on for miles it seemed, turning left and right, going up hills and descents, and turning some more. It felt like he had been walking for an hour, and his feet were beginning to hurt. Yet, Willis trudged along, keeping the beam of light ahead of him to guide the way. He still wished that Dirk had decided to make this dumb journey in the daytime instead of when it was pitch black outside.

Dirk checked his phone and put it back into his pocket. Almost midnight. Won't this damn road ever end? I thought we would've seen it by now.

"I told you. There's not a damn thing out here. Some old hillbilly is going to pop out and tell us to turn around. Or ... worse. He'll point a gun at us and lead us somewhere. That's how people go missing, Dirk. I bet he's watching us right now, waiting for that right moment when we're off our guard."

Yeah, Dirk laughed. "Some murderous hillbilly that lives in the woods. You know, you have to work on your spook stories to frighten me even the littlest bit. Maybe if you said cannibals instead, or ... or a really fuckin' big mansion."

Willis snickered. "What's so spooky about ... oh."

His friend had stopped in his tracks, and Willis did so a second later, following his gaze around the bend in the road to an open lot up ahead. Beyond a large, metal fence that encircled the perimeter was a two-story brick mansion, with a steeple erected in the middle. There were rows of windows on each floor facing them, at least seven or eight by Willis's first estimation. Some were dark, but some were lit up, glowing brightly yellow on an otherwise dark property.

"Shit, Dirk gasped, adjusting his glasses for a better look. I mean, I thought he was telling the truth ... but ... look at it. It's massive! They must've cleared out at least twenty or thirty trees for the place. I don't see much security."

What were you expecting? Willis asked. "Armed patrol guards? Attack dogs? Watchtowers along a
