About this ebook

While Leila was sitting in a small coffee shop trying to get some work done, four men ask to join her without looking up she agrees. When she looks up she sees one of the guys, is the guy of of her dreams but she is gun shy when it comes to men. They are usually intimidated by her ten brothers and about how close they all are. She threw in the towel on relationships a long time ago. But she wouldn’t mind a few days of lust before she has her nieces and nephews for the summer. Then again if he smiles at me again I may not be able to let him go.
Eric escapes his fans and the hotel in order to let him and his band slip into a java shop to get their coffee fix. He is done with relationships but he takes one look at the women who he shares a table with when she looks up his attitude about relationships ends. When she starts talking and has a personality and a wicked sense of humor like him. He is done for.
Eric is a werewolf and he is hoping that he has finally met his mate, his one and only for the rest of his life.
After a crazy misfortune, Eric and the band agree to stay at her family’s cabin for a few days. Eric and Leila get closer in that few days than most couples do in years. Her brothers love Eric and his band when they tell Leila who exactly they are and the band figures out who she is. Then the band has to get back on the road for the six weeks left of their tour.
Will Eric and Leila make it through the separation? Eric hates leaving her. This is how most of his jokes of relationships, in the past, have ended. He wants to be with Leila forever if they can get through the six week separation.
Six weeks separation is by no means all of the things that go wrong.

About the Author

Thanks

To my husband The Ogre Thanks for answering all my goofy questions. Thanks for listening to all my crazy ideas and telling me when I get way too far out there. I love you bunches and bunches.

To Bunk and Gil Gil I love you both. You have always been the reason I wake up and the reasons I go to bed at night and you always will be. You are the best kids a mom could ask for and I am so very proud of you both.

A year and a half ago I got a Lilly with bright blue eyes that light up every room she enters.

To my grandparents who have given me my love for reading since I said I was bored and they handed me a book. Love and miss you every day.

To my Dad, I did it ha who would have thunk it. I was cookin up a story.

I also was given two more children a Spenser and a Jessi that are becoming a very important part of my life.

To Jenny and Kim thanks for an amazing time in the eighties. I still say duct tape works better on the legs than waxing. Of course that was not what we planned but hey two birds one stone and all that. I say we raise more hell in the 2020s.

To Sandy thanks for all the fun we had through this fun glorious life.

To Amy so glad you found a decent man and made two beautiful girls.

To Michelle it is my prerogative that you like this book. Sorry it had to be said.

Barb three words. The. Wagon. Wheel. Nuff said.

To Peggie thanks for the second chance. I hope you never regret it!

Karen and Tammy hope all is well with the family ladies. I had to say thanks to you both as well. We haven’t spoken in a while but that doesn’t mean I don’t think of you both often.

I was going to google best and most beautiful nieces in the whole wide world and it would have said Tara, Kara, Kimmie, Mem, Beth, Amby (yes I said Amby) Vicki and Riele. I was so confident that this would be the result. I didn’t even try it.

I just wanted to say that the reason I was able to accomplish this book is because was kidnapped by a Genie and taken to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. I am lucky to have my own Genie, she is the best. I will not share. If you don’t have your own, I highly recommend them. Again I will not share.

To all us redheads with all our fair skin and freckles we are beautiful. To my redheaded adopted son Justin, You didn’t think I was going to forget you did you and even to your brother J even though he wasn’t blessed with our red headed awesomeness.

For everyone who has simply made me laugh, you know who you are.

If I forgot anyone, do not worry, this is only the beginning.

To all you who encouraged me when I said I wanted to write a book.

This one’s for you.

I love you all!

Thank you.

S. A. Dennison

To my readers,

Before you begin to read this book, I would like to tell you a couple things.

I am sure I have misplaced commas and made a few other errors here and there. For that I take full responsibility. If that hinders your enjoyment of the book I am sorry. I promise to make the next one better. I did use two very amazing beta readers Jeanie and Jessi thanks ladies you are the best. My husband read this book too and needless to say, this is not his genre, but he read it for me. I love you baby.

My book is about a family of unwanted misfits. I did this because I believe in equality to everyone. I think as a society that we are evolving into a new way of thinking and accepting things that are not the norm, not just in race but also in sexuality, religion and several other areas. This I believe is a great thing. I think it will be an amazing thing when we start embracing and learning from our differences instead of attacking them because we don’t understand them.

Happy Reading,

S A Dennison.

Chapter One

I usually hang out in coffee shops because this makes it easier for my mind to wander. I am a writer if you haven’t guessed yet. I know it’s totally cliché but it works for me. I have not sold much just a book or two. A little better than that but I am not the type to brag. I used a much younger picture of me on the back cover of the book, so I don’t get recognized often, which works out well for me.

You would be amazed with what you can do with an imagination and a never ending flow of people in and out of a coffee shop. Not to mention the bottomless cup of coffee.

This is my favorite coffee shop because it’s off the beaten path so you get a great diversity of people coming and going. It’s close to downtown Columbus but not too close to where you get a lot of executives. They usually stare at me which I find annoying enough but when they come to me and talk because I am alone in the middle of the morning in a café. I try to ignore them by focusing on my computer which normally works. They usually are out for one thing anyway. I am so done with men.

Everyone must be in need of a midmorning jolt of coffee. The place is getting packed for some reason. Maybe there was a late game that everyone stayed up to watch. It happens, we love our Buckeyes! Well some do obviously not me. I don’t even know when a game is on unless my brothers tell me.

I get back to writing. I am in the middle of a scene that I want to finish. Someone interrupts my thoughts, by pulling a chair out from my table.

Is this seat taken? I just glance up and say no and go back to my writing. I have an idea I want to get out of my head before I lose it.

When I am interrupted again by another guy asking me the same question I don’t even look up, I just say No go ahead. I get a thanks then I get back to writing. It sucks when you have a thought in your head and someone interrupts it. Oh well maybe they will leave before I am done. I am not much into meeting new people today. I am not wearing makeup and it’s a jeans and t-shirt kind of day for me. I try and dress down when I am writing so I do not get bothered.

I get done with my thought and look up. I now have four great looking guys staring at me and sitting at my quiet corner table. I look around and I notice my quiet little café is packed.

Hi they all say in unison but are still staring at me, with knowing smiles on their faces.

What the hell. Oh crap.

Ok, Did I just say out loud everything I just typed? Feel free to lie if I did. I ask totally serious. I know my face is turning beet red.

They all smile. The original one says No, but at one point I do believe you growled.

I think you moaned too. Another says.

I look to the sky and smile deviously before saying the only thing I can say. Makes sense I would. with a slow smile.

Ok so what were you writing? Another guy at my table says smiling in a flirty kind of way.

I don’t think so guys. Nice try though. I look at them better. They are probably in a band. They all have piercings and I am guessing tattoos in various places. I can only see the few they have showing. Let me guess are you guys in a band?

Yeah we are. One of the quite ones says. How could you tell? all of them are looking at me like I am crazy.

What kind of music? No let me guess Jazz? No I got it Rap? I say joking of course. I cannot help but flirt.

You are funny. The leader says, who I must say is even more drop dead gorgeous when he smiles.

So. one of the quiet ones says, I am not sure which one; I am too busy staring at the gorgeous one. What do you do?

I hang out in coffee shops to meet hot guys. I say with a straight face somehow, before they all start laughing.

Hey, I didn’t say today was one of those days. Gosh, are you arrogant much? No I am kidding. Seriously, I am a writer and please just call me Leila. I don’t want my fans to rush the table.

They all look around nervously as if people will storm the small coffee shop. They all just stare at me and then look at each other. Not knowing whether to believe me or not.

I am a writer and my name is Leila at least that’s what my brothers call me. I have written a book or two that have been published.

So what is the name of your band? I am a country kind of girl. But I like old rock even some of the hair bands from the eighties. I listen to a little new rock but mostly country.

No shit. One of them says, not sure which one, I was too busy staring at the main guy. I cannot keep my eyes off him. He is feeling the same way because he is staring too.

You said you have brothers? Main guy asks, without taking his eyes off me. Assuming I won’t realize he has changed the subject.

That’s a strange name for a band. I say. Letting him know I caught his abrupt subject change.

Main guy smiles and it makes his face light up into all gorgeous male. When I thought main guy was cute that was a serious understatement he is HOT! His smile is memorizing. He has dark brown hair, which reaches just below his collar. The brightest blue eyes I have ever seen (maybe contacts) that are the perfect shape. He has a distinctive nose, not big, not small, but it has a small point in the center. There are no imperfections to his face at all, No scars, no acne, nothing. He has a piercing in his eyebrow and one on his very kissable full lips. He is probably tall and well-built it’s hard to tell. He is sitting down and wearing a baggy hoodie. I can make out a tattoo peeking out of his shoulder going up his neck. I have no idea what it is. I so want to explore those tattoos.

Ok you don’t have to tell me. I have ten brothers who all love me to pieces and are totally over protective. So, no kidnapping today, OK?

They all smile at me.

Dammit guys, there goes our afternoon. The main guy says smiling.

With a sense of humor too, wow, where the hell has he been all my life? I love his laugh. He doesn’t hold anything back. He has probably laughed the same way since he was a child. It’s really cute.

Ok, can I get your names at least? I won’t Google them. I promise. I am awful with names I will probably forget them before I leave. Only first names if that works.

Main guy says. Eric. He actually looks like an Eric.

Next is the blond of the group, Mike. Mike has dirty blond hair that is all flat but I bet he spikes it when they are playing. His eyes are a very dark green. Even sitting I can tell he is tall. He is thin, but not too thin.

Next is Shawn He has a buzz cut but I can tell its light brown and he has caramel brown eyes. He is shorter than the others from the looks of it, and a little chubby, not fat, just probably doesn’t work out much. I can see several tattoos on his hands.

Denny is the last one. He is about the same built as Shawn but seems taller. With Chocolate brown hair that is long on top, but shaved on the sides, it’s probably a Mohawk when they play. I have no idea what color his eyes are because he is wearing dark sunglasses.

Nice meeting you all. So do you live around here?

Hey, that’s my line. Eric says with a smile.

I smile. Yes, I was born and raised here actually. Now, what about you guys?

Los Angeles." Eric says

All of you? I ask looking at all of them.

Yeah. they all answer.

Cool, I’ve never been there.

I look at my clock on my laptop and realize I have to get going. I start packing up. Sorry to learn your names and run. I have to leave to get the kids.

Eric asks. How many kids do you have?

Seven. I say without thinking.

What? They all yell in unison.

Alarmed by that, I giggle. Not my kids. I have ten brothers that have seven kids. I have to pick them up from daycare and school so I can take them to the zoo, its family day. My oldest brother works security for the zoo. We always go to the zoo on family day. It’s not packed at all, it’s a blast, it’s catered and everything. If the band thing doesn’t work out you should so get a job there.

Denny says. That would be awesome. I would love to go to the zoo.

Sorry, the zoo is closed to the public today and tomorrow. It is only opened for employees. You could go after that.

We couldn’t go anyway. Denny says sounding so disappointed.

I feel bad for them. I want to ask why not but I don’t want to be so nosey.

Hey, I might be able to get you guys in tomorrow. My brother usually gets passes for both days in case one of us can’t make it to the first day. Not to mention we are a big family it’s hard to get us all in the same place at the same time.

We would all love you forever if you did that. Denny said.

Let me call my brother and ask. Give me your number and I will call and let you know. I will have to tag along if that’s ok. I step to Eric because I really want his number anyway.

He smiles knowing that I want his number. We would not have it any other way. Thanks, even if it’s just for trying. Eric says.

I smile at him. You’re welcome.

Eric grasps my hand. Hey, call either way, OK?

I programmed Eric’s number in my cell and promise to call and let them know as soon as I get an answer. It will be later, because my brother is at work but he will cut out and hang with us when we get there.

I leave the café. I am walking down the road to my SUV. I hear a commotion coming from the café. Hopefully everyone is ok and it didn’t get robbed or something.

Chapter Two

The band

Eric

Stop checking out her ass. I am positive, that at least cannot be perfect. I say I mean something has to be wrong with her right? I say to my band.

She has the sexiest eyes I have ever seen. They are deep dark blue. She has a full voluptuous set of lips. She has the most beautiful strawberry blond hair it is in a long ponytail that reaches the middle of her back. I bet it almost reaches her ass when it’s not pulled back.

I love her body, not skinny. I hate skinny but she has some meat on her bones. I won’t feel like I am going to break her if I get the chance to do what I want to do with her.

Shawn looks behind himself, at her ass, he smiles and says Yeah completely terrible ass. So if you don’t want to hang with her tomorrow. I will just have to help you out of course. He shakes his head in mock disgust and says. I mean that’s what friends are for right?

I just growl. They all snicker. I cannot help it my wolf took over. Sorry, I am having a hard time with him since I sat down and took one look at Leila.

I think she likes you too, but then again, who doesn’t says Mike.

I have to look and of course her ass is that kind that looks like a heart going side to side. it’s absolutely perfect. I believe gentlemen I am totally in love so if you all want to skip tomorrow…."

That is not happening Eric. We are all going to the zoo. Best day ever if we get to go. I haven’t been to a zoo since I was thirteen with my class from school. Denny says.

She was so asking me for my number. She was looking right at me. The way my wolf is acting she could be my mate. Is she wolf? I didn’t smell it. Did any of you guys?

I smelled a trace, but I cannot be sure. Anyway females usually don’t know until they find their mate. Their scent is not right until then either. She asked for your number because you jumped before she was even done speaking. Shawn said.

They are all laughing at me. I am acting like a tween girl. What the hell is wrong with me?

Best yet, she has no idea who we are. She is completely clueless. Denny says

She also listens to country. Probably was raised on it. You cannot change that. Shawn said.

Why would I want to change that? She says she likes some rock. Maybe she can like ours a little bit. She says she likes some new stuff maybe she just doesn’t go to concerts and has no idea what we look like. It could happen. I tell the guys.

Eric! Is that you? Is that really you? Oh My God! It’s the whole band. A typical groupie says. She has Black hair, lips and nails.

I smile and wink at her. I hate to blow her off and run but now everyone in the coffee shop has taken notice. I hope she understands that. Probably not, I can only hope. I really do love my fans. I just wish she wouldn’t have yelled, letting everyone know who we are. I would have been nice to keep it quiet for just a little while longer. I could have just given her an autograph and sent her on her way without everyone knowing who we are.

We got to go I yell and head to the kitchen and the back door which leads to an alley not far from our hotel. We all jog down the alley and make it to the hotel. Our bodyguards who were in the back of the coffee shop are at the back entrance holding off the woman who yelled my name and the others who realized who we are.

That was close. I tell the guys, when we make it to our floor of the hotel. I hope Leila didn’t see that. I want to keep her in the dark for as long as possible.

Just don’t out and out lie to her, chicks hate that Denny says.

How would you know? You married your high school sweetheart. I ask Denny

True, I am a lucky bastard, but I never lie to my wife of six years and we are happy. Denny answers truthfully.

Leila is a lot different from our usual crowd. She has brains and a personality to boot. She is a bit of a smart ass which is sexy on her for some reason. I say to no one in particular.

She is fucking hot and I love the smart ass comments like she is not afraid of us. Mike says.
