About this ebook

An erotic historical short story. The world was crumbling around Princess Gwyneth. Her brother, the King was slain trying to crush the Saxon brutes from London ever threatening Briton. Now the castle was under siege and her kingdom’s former allies were the attackers. As the last of the royal bloodline, she was sure to be put to death. The court’s champion, Owain kicks in her door where she had blockaded herself in. If anyone could save her, it was this man who owned her heart. If not, there was no one she’d rather die with.

The world is a lonely place without romance. It took me too many years to figure that out, but now that I have, I hope to infect others with its splendor. I’ve always loved the paranormal -- vampires, demons, angels, were-creatures and more. I also love a spicy tale and writing stories that are both has been a fantastic adventure. Sharing it with you makes it all the greater. Join me at www.forlorn-hope.net

943 AD, Gwynedd (Modern day Wales)

The sweeping arc of the footman’s flail whooshed through the air. Owain ducked and thrust his longsword. His blade bit, slicing through the ringmail and hard oiled leather the invader wore. But his enemy had scored as well. The barbed iron maul caught his helmet and tore it from him. Thunder filled his ears, but his head remained attached to his shoulders. The helm clanged loudly across the courtyard, but he cared not. He had to get to her.

The fortress was doomed. As were all within. Owain gave a damn about only one thing now. Saving Gwyneth. He’d sworn an oath to her father, their former king, to protect her. And protect her he would, with his last breath if God required it.

The Deheubarthian fell with a guttural whimper and Owain pressed on. The castle’s forces had been pushed back and now skirmished for control of the courtyard. Gwyneth would be barricaded in her chambers. And scared.

Another enemy stepped into Owain’s blind run and he ran the offender through without so much as a single thought save the man was between him and his love. Another corpse fell under Owain’s boots and he crashed through the giant oak doors of the castle proper.

His eyes blurred with tears, fearful he might not get to her before
