    Chapter 1

Clancy’s Security was finally getting back to normal. It has been close to three months since our case with Carlos and the Cuban Cartel. I had received a few more letters from Cuba. I gave them immediately to Tom. I figured Tom was so upset with me the last time, he fired me. Now that I have my job back I have to follow the rules as he sees fit’ at least for a while.

Mick and I are partners. Since the Carlos case he sticks pretty close to me. He’s a bit protective, but I guess I would do the same thing if the circumstances were reversed. My brother Patrick started working for Tom as soon as he was discharged from the service a few months ago. The case in hand with the Cuban Cartel was to get his girl Jenny out of their hands and back home. As soon as we were back from Texas’ after saving Jenny, Patrick and Jenny took off and married immediately. Now three months later she is pregnant. She is due in seven months. What a horny toad my brother is. He could have waited at least a year. I guess he is just making up for lost time. Rick and I broke up after that case. Not one of my favorite cases. We have not really talked since then, only to say hello. He stops by the office, because he works hand and hand with Tom on a lot of the cases. Deep down I think he is keeping tabs on me through Tom. He is not one to give up easily. I know I can still count on him if I really needed too. But I am not ready to hand my life over to him yet. I love my job and he wants me to quit and take a desk job where he thinks I will be safe all the time. That is one of our biggest down falls.

While we were working on our case to put Carlos in jail and free the girls that were trapped in the human trafficking rings in New York, we found out that Carlos was not the top guy from Cuba. He worked for another person that we have not found out the name of. Tom thinks that the letters I have been receiving are coming out of this organization. Mick has been following Carlos case carefully. It looks like it will be going to trial in a few weeks. We will all have to be in court for this. We received information on all the addresses we called into the authorities about the residents that were harboring human trafficking. They were able to shut them down. The end results, over two hundred girls were freed and sent either back to their homes or given a place to live in, a halfway house, where they would receive help finding legal employment and skills in everyday living. This made me extremely happy. I felt like we really accomplished something important. As frightening as the whole experience turned out. it was well worth it. Now of course we have to deal with the threatening letters coming out of Cuba.

    Chapter 2

Rick walked into the office. He asked Robin if Tom was available. She said she would check and get right back to him. Rick walked over to my desk. How have you been? Have you received anymore letters? He looked like he wanted to say more but he held back. He turned towards Mick, Hi. How's it going? He gave Mick a look that would put chills down your spine. Mick just knodded his head, Fine, then he tuned and started shuffling papers on his desk.

Tom stuck his head out of his office.Come on in Rick. Rick walked in and he shut the door. I looked at Mick, What do you think that’s about? Do you think it has something to do with the trial? Mick shook his head, I don’t know, but we will find out soon. He put his hand on my shoulder as a gesture for me not to worry. Rick left. He didn’t look back or say good-bye. It made me feel kind of empty. I really kind of miss him. Deep down I know it’s going to take awhile before we will be able to work on our relationship, if it ever happens. We went through some pretty intense times with the human trafficking case.

Tom called both Mick and me into his office. "Rick just informed me that the trial is due to start next week. They are moving it up. They want to deport Carlos instead of keeping him in jail. I am afraid if he is deported, that someone will take his place here in the states. We cost the Cartel millions of dollars. They don’t take this lightly. Carlos wants to stay in jail. He is afraid if he is sent back to Cuba he will be killed. Bailey you will defiantly have to testify. You are the only one that can state the conditions of the facts that happened inside of Puffy Fluff. They feel that Jenny would not be mentally able to handle it. It would be detrimental to her health and the baby’s. If you don’t testify Carlos could get off with a misdemeanor because he did not actually work or stay at the bar. Milo will pick up the entire fault in that case. He could walk out of there if you were not able to testify. That is what Rick was
